Question about Dell Latitude D520 Notebook
I assume you are talking about the cd/dvd drive. Almost all of these drives have a tiny little hole in the cover. This hold is just big enough for a straightend out paper clip.
Turn off and unplug the pc. For laptops remove the battery. Then push the paper clip gently into the little hole and the drive should open a little. Don't force it open. If it doesn't open easily, you probably have a cd/dvd inside that is hung up. Gently turn and/or shake the pc/laptop to see if you can free up the cd/dvd.

Try to push the emergency hole of the optical drive and check if the rubber is able to respond for push and eject. If not then have to call Dell technical support for such replacement of the device. Thank you.
