Question about Stairmaster Stepmill 7000 Pt
I recently bought a used stairmaster stepmill SM916 and the level buttons don't seem to work properly. When I hit the increase level button it will beep (most of the time but not always) but the speed doesn't increase. Sometimes it will work with one button push but usually I have to hold it down and then after a second or two it will jump up 2 or 3 levels. Vice versa on the decrease. Any suggestions of problem and/or solutions?

Check the blue wire to the alternator. Check all connections. the blue wire is the tach wire. no tach signal and you cant climb fast enough!

console could be defective try to diagnose it by entering diagnostic codes from your manual
also check the mechanical parts inside , a hinge rod could have slipped out and has pinned the entire stairs
