Question about JVC AV-48WP30 48" Rear Projection Television

2 Answers

I have a JVC AV 48WP55 projection TV. The green light bar flashes and an audible clicking sound can be heard toward the bottom front of the TV when I look at it from the back with the cover removed. Unplugging it and replugging it in makes no difference. I saw on here where somebody suggested pulling the entire convergence board and see if that made it come on. It didn't. Still no picture or sound. No snow. What next? Power supply? Tuner? Explosives?

I kinda figured it might be. Any idea where the board model number is located on that model?

Got it. One last question. Are you talking about the main pwb located on the lower left of the floor that houses such components as the mi-com & dist module pwd or the power pwb located in the center of the floor that the ac cord and fuse are located on? Either way I am seeing a lot of $$$$$$$.

Look,on these tv`s,cold solder joints are real popular.Pull the boards out enough to turn them over for visual inspection.Look for a burned out spot.It will be on one of the heat sinks.Clean the area with contact spray, and resolder the leg of the heat sink back to the board.I hope this was helpful.

You power supply is most likely the culprit. The internal capacitors do get overheated and faulty.

should be printed on board or underneath, Some use stickers, others are printed.

My JVC AV-48WP55 only blinks the green led when plugged in. This happened after a power surge, during a thunder storm.

Have you tried unplugging the tv and letting it sit for a while then plugging it back in?

also.. sometimes i have seen appliances that will flash the power light if an internal fuse has blown to indicate a problem. open it up if you feel you want to and check for a fuse around where the power cord comes in teh tv.
