I am getting an error message on my HP 2840 LaserJet: 50.2 Fuser Error. Where is this fuser I've heard so much about?

    Hi

    Much appreciated.

Is the fuser located at the rear /bottom of the printer?

What color are the levers you said need to be pushed in (near the gears)?

How many of those levers need to be pushed in?

    Thanks.

The fuser on your printer is very easy to get to. Look at the back of the printer near the bottom. There are two small levers set to lock position, one on each side. Flip them both to unlock position and pull. That's it! That's the fuser right there.

If your printer is still under warrenty i would just take it in to get it fixed.
if not you may want to take it to a repair store i wouldnt recomend doing this yourself but if you want to .

turn off and disconnect the power cable

look for a device with rotating locks and a handle

rotate the locks to the unlocked possition

grab the fuser handle and pull the fusre from the device

the fuser assembly could be very hot so you may want to wait a bit before pulling it out

check the fuser tabs they should be next to gears its just a little metel tab and needs to be pushed in all the way.

but again if getting this error you should take it to someone because there is also a chance that its a low voltage error as well. and the fuser used to cost $300 not sure what they are now but messing with something that cost that mutch may want to be on the safe side and just take it somewhere.

50.2 error message

Internal hardware error.
Try cycling the power.
If it still occurs, power off and remove the power cord. Take the fuser out. Wait 20 minutes.
Reinstall the fuser. Reattach the power cord. Power on and see if error reoccurs.
If it returns, you probably have to replace the fuser.

When a 50.x fuser appear its because the fuser its worn, its probably overheating. I can suggest to take it out (in the back you will see 2 blue locks) for about half hour (turn the unit off before you are doing that) and put it back in. If the error persist you need a new fuser. Good luck

The fuser is the heating unit near the paper exit, and that error means the lamp is burned out, the overtemp sensor is out, or the thermistor in the fuser is bad. About all you can do is replace the fuser. www.precisionroller.com will have a new fuser for you.

Hp laserjet 2840 all in one gives FUSER ERROR

For any fuser error, the first thing that should be done is replacing the fuser. If the error still shows up after wards, it could be the LVPS (Low voltage power supply) or a board.

When you print it cimes on 50.1 fuser error and won't print

Your fuser lamp is not coming on. Reseat the fuser. If that does not help, your fuser will need to be replaced.
