I had the same problem for about an hour. I finally got it, though not sure how. I think it had something to do with the green button on the on/off switch. I pressed it down while at the same time pushing the on/off button down to "mode". When I went back to finalize it yet again, I got the option to select "Yes". Hooray!

The camcorder came with an ac plug. Simply take the battery off the camera and plug one end of the AC adapter in then on the battery charger there is a spot to plug in the other end of the adapter. Plug it all in and finalize. Panasonic said it is a default so you battery doesn’t die during finalization.

I own a Panasonic VDR-M75PP and I never had problems finalizing my disk until now. I use the A/C adapter. I take all the steps, I start by selecting the Disc Navigation, normally the thumbnails would appear. However, now it appears to be loading the thumbnails but after a few minutes the screen goes blank and nothing more happens. I called Panasonic and they told me they would take a look at it for $199.00. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with my camera.

You have to plug it in the A/C Adapter (House electricity) to avoid draining the battery while finalizing which could result to partial finalized (Damaged) disc

DVD Finalization

im guessing your talking about a new disc here , before you can do anything with the disc ,you will either have to format it or erase it, once you have donr that you can then use the disc and edit its contents. im assuming you are using the correct type of disc for your machine, eg dvd+rw or dvd-rw check the manual to make sure your machine can record onto a dvd+rw disc. hope this is of some help to you.

I replied you in premium post as well. here is with details...

Be sure to use the AC adapter to power the DVD Video Camera when
finalizing a DVD-R disc. Finalization cannot be executed using a battery pack. Now you will see finalize option in menu and can select it to finalize disc.

Good luck.

Mini-DVD playback

two things:

1) connect the camcorder to your computer using a USB cable and play it through that, by the way, what computer is it?

2) you can finalize without the ac adapter - its a built in safeguard to ensure that there is enough power to allow finalization to complete
