Since you don't mention the model I'll assume one - CR2401A - and look at the manual as you should be doing.
It has a Line Out. THAT would feed an amplifier or other standard analog audio device and IT might in turn be able to drive dad's old speakers. The Crosley model X probably doesn't support direct speaker attachment.
Hello, What you still the actul circuits on the timer,the thing that can make a dryer not start are things you hav ealready checked plus also the timer&motor,and perhaps a belt switch i could not find your actual model number to see if it has a belt switch but lots of brand use a switch that cuts motor curcuit when belt is broke, but as i said it also could be timer or motor
