Question about HP Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Im deeply disappointed with this HP7540 crt monitor. This settings menu that is only supposed to come up when pressing the button on the monitor, just keeps flickering and its continuously in my way. In the past it would disappear after about half an hour. No disppearing anymore now. One expensive thing I have noticed is that it doesnt matter how great a computer is, it meens nothing if the monitor isnt working properly. I have now, tried EVERYTHING. Is the driver installed? yes it is. I have noticed over the net that there are people with the same monitor and same problem but I have yet to find a case where I can see whether or not it was or can in fact be solved. Can anyone try to help me please?

Its not a software/driver issue, the button/curcuit board has gone bad which is giving the OSD (menu which comes on monitor). Tap the button multiple times to see if it was comming due to button getting stuck, that will be resolved. If not then you need to get it repaired. :( ... Repair will cost you more than to buying a new TFT monitor.

All the best.

Shrey

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have an HP7540 monitor that I need to be able to change red, blue and green colors on thru the menu

I hope you know how to enter and navigate through the OSD (On-Screen Display) menu of your monitor.
Enter the menu and navigate to 'Color' menu.
Under that select 'User'.
Now you can select either Red, Green or Blue.
After selecting a color it can be increased or decreased.
Press Exit button to go back, select the next color and set it to your liking.

Problem with Control Panel

It sounds like theres a front panel button that has become intermittant and making contact all by itself. Sometimes when you clean the screen, the cleaner will drip down between the crt face aqnd the cabinet and make the switch in front go bad. Im not sure if this is the case in your problem but its a start. If you didnt spill anything or drip anything into the front panel then your maicroprocessor could be causeing the problem, or the 5 volts that feed the micro could be noisy ie, bad filter capacitor in the power supply. Now as im sure your aware of the hi voltage inside these sets? Its best if you dont have the training to get a pro to assist you as this hi voltage can hang around inside the set even if its unplugged. Good Luck
