Monitor displays white screen when connected and powered.
When the monitor is turned on the screen goes completely white. Have tried both DVI and VGA connections with two different computers and still the monitor remains white. I am assuming that the monitor is the problem.

Does the OSD settings menu work or (say, contrast) controls work? It could be a control circuit that somehow gets as far as switching the backlight on but can't get the video detection or further (resolution data interchange, etc.) stuff going. There might be a reset jumper for that somewhere in the monitor, or via holding Power for a few seconds, or a Power/brightness-down combo.
Without going to open it up for reset and test connections; there might be a utility (if you can borrow another monitor to get it going) supplied with the monitor to provide settings for it from the PC end! Wacky, but true.

here is the simple test to detect hardware malfunction. on every monitor these days whether its CRT or LCD already programmed inside self test. detach your cable data to CPU and power on your monitor. if its displayed self test on your screen mean its OK and something wrong with your CPU, could be VGA error.
if its just black display mean some is wrong with your monitor.

Either the cable is not connected to the proper port or the display-source is not configured properly.Here's what you can try.
Ensure that you have connected the VGA/DVI cable in the correct port. If you have an extended graphics card in your computer, use a DVI cable(Digital input) else the VGA would be the only option available.
if your monitor came with a disk try installing the drivers again you might still have the drivers for the previous monitor you had with your system if not try going to the manufacturers website and getting the drivers and install them
I have the same problem its defenitly a problem with the lcd monitor not with the graphics card nor the pc. I hooked up the digital and afterwards the vga connection both had the same result. 1 s perfect screen all visible but than black. pushing the on/off or standby button again shortly 1s the display works than it blanks. Did the same test while connected to a dvd player via the composite video... same problem . Since the previous posts are that old and without a solution I guess there is no hope in getting it fixed.
You've done sensible substitutions and it does sound like dead monitor.
The white screen is due to no pixels being controlled at all; what you are seeing is an unpolarized view of the backlight.
It's conceivable that a power supply problem is at fault in the display since it is unusual to lose all control over the screen as this has done.
The cause has to be common to all of the drive circuitry in the monitor and sounds like a job for a tech.
9 months? Is the warranty coverage known?
Unfortunately, warranties seem shorter all the time but it might be worth a shot to locate and email an inquiry to the manufacturer.
That's quite strange as during system startup you should see the Dell POST logo as at that point the card is only running at VGA, and the monitor will support display at this resolution. If you connect with a normal single DVI cable the monitor should display at 1280x800 also.
Have you tried this? Also have you had this monitor working on another computer at all? What happens if you power up the 3007 with no video cable connected? It should cycle through the pixel test screens. If you are not getting that, and you are not getting the pre POST logo during powerup i suspect that it is a screen failure.
Contacted viewsonic about this issue- they suggested- have both dvi and vga hooked up to same machine. start with poweroff on both. power on monitor, then power on computer. when you see display coming from the vga, power off pc, then disconnect vga cable, turn off power to monitor, disconnect power cord from monitor for 5 + seconds, reconnect power cord, power on monitor, then power on pc.
If this doesn't work to get the dvi working, (as happened to us) we returned our monitor for a replacement, since it was still under warranty.
