Emachine t5230 shut off and will not come back on. it shut off last night while i was asleep and i tried to turn it back on and nothing happens, i think it is either the button or a dead battery but i cannot find the parts anywhere

Take the battery out and hold the power button for 10 seconds. That should reset the computer. If that does not help, take it to a qualified technician as something else has happened.
Your eMachines features the cheapest power supply in the industry. I have personally replaced 6 of these. You can replace it with a factory unit for $20 or go to your local compter shop, and get a $40 unit that will last until you need a new computer.
Best way to check is to open your case. Near the power supply plug to the motherboard should be a little led light. If it is getting power to the board this light should be green. If it's unlit then most likely your power supply has gone bad. Hope this helps.
