Open run type cmd type chkdsk c:
Chkdsk is a common program that you should already have on your machine. It checks your hard drive for errors. You can use your command prompt program (start menu/programs/accessories) to tell it to chkdsk c:/f to fix any errors that may be on your hard drive. If you run it with the f , the program will probably ask you if you want to run it the next time you boot the machine (since it can't do a fix while the hard drive is being used). Say yes and reboot. If you run it without the f , it will simply indicate errors, but will not fix them. Hope this helps.
