No water getting into unit

We have a multi-family home which has 3 new Nautilus GE dishwashers. The tenants in one of the units is complaining that water is not getting into the dishwasher. We have tried adjusting nobs to the unit but have been unsuccessful in determining what the issue might be. Can you suggest anything we can do?

How does my ge dishwasher heat the water

Suggest:

1)check if the hose was mistakenly attached to the cold water line instead of the hot water

2)if you mean the water is not being heated for the "sanitizing cycle"....then the heater element may be burned out or have a bad connection....or you have not programmed/selected the "sanitize" cycle.

3)if your unit was working OK and this problem just started....then I expect the problem is 2)

good luck

Coroding on the racks inside the dishwasher

poor quality, nothing to do about that, you can buy some paint that is water and heat resistant, sand down the rust and prime then paint it again, or complain if it is a new or new-ish washer (no more than 2-3 years)

We have a multi-family home and all units have new Nautilus GE dishwashers. Our second floor tenant is complaining of water not getting into the unit. We have tried unsuccessfully to figure out the...

There are two reasons that may cause the water not to enter the unit.
  1. Water-inlet valve. It lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.
  2. Float switch. It is a small electrical switch located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.

The start timer control cycles but nothing happens. The motor seems to gurgle while attempting to fill with water - but no water comes through. We have had this problem before and the repair person...

I bought a new one and installed it myself. hardest part of installing was taking the old unit out. I compared the cost of a second repair of a 10 year old dishwasher vs. purchasing a new one. We also checked the pump and solenoid to find problems that caused the water not to enter the unit. The new one we purchased is much better, quieter, and Energy Star.

Soap and water coming out the front of the dishwasher

I would think that the gasket is not doing the job, can you pull the gasket together to decrease the gap. If not then try another gasket if it's not on warrentee

sounds like the water outlet has a leak - probably a simple 'o'ring problem - these can wear.

GE Nautilus 4800 Dishwasher/Shuts off/ No water draining out

It may be the motor start capacitor or the motor or the wiring to it. Some units have a built-in switch that shuts the unit off if the motor doesn't start turning after a short interval. However, if it drains it usually means the motor runs enough to pump it out. These units usually stop draining when the fill switch opens at the lower level.

Check inlet valves as if you have 2, it may fill using 2 inlets (hot & cold) but only rinse on using 1 ((cold only). So if the cold inlet is faulty, then you will only notice on the rinse. If thats not it then chances are it is the controller unit. regards
