I have Windows Vista and while I am connected to the Internet right now - how do I resolve the problem - when window says "Windows cannot find any networks". Is there any easy way to resolve this besides shutting down my computer and internet and then rebooting or is there any easier way.

    Hi 88smokey,

Thanks for the reply - reason it took a bit of time because I was on hold with my cable provider to check it out - like you had mentioned - they did some tweeking and the only way to know will be to see in the next couple days and if it works more consistently.

    I have a laptop with wireless router/modem.

So will see in the next couple days or so and let you know how goes.

    Thanks,

I had this problem not too long ago. Sometimes it would work and sometimes modem would have to be reset. the modem provided by my cable company was deffective. once that was replaced no more problems. contact your provider, they will probably not charge you for a new modem

I practically lost my vista product key ,and the window vista request to activate. Please help me to resolve the problem.

If you have successfully installed Vista using the product installation code, then you need to activate Windows Vista (you have a 30 period to activate)
You can activate Vista via the Internet or by phone.
If you have Internet connection then i suggest you activate via the Internet. Click on the activation request and follow the prompts.
If you wish to activate by phone click on the activation request and follow the prompts.

Try this....

Windows WiFi Fix,

Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.

Windows XP:

Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.

Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue

No net connectivity

If you encounter difficulties accessing computers that are visible on the network map, make sure the computer being accessed has an account with the same name/password as the system connecting to it uses to login.

To set up Network Sharing between XP and Windows Vista, please note that File and Printer Sharing is different in Windows Vista than from the setup in Windows XP.

On a computer running Windows XP, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Network Connections.
Click Local Area Network Connection, click Properties, and then view the list of items used by the network connection.
Ensure that the Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder check box is selected.

Adding a dialup connection

I think you might need to be on an account with administrative rights to complete that kind of change on a Vista system...Make sure you are logged on that way to begin with if possible...
When you don't have administrative rights, you can't set up programs that affect other users.
Here is a troubleshooter that might help you resolve this Vista network connections
and Troubleshoot Internet Connections
Also, you might take a look in your Device Manager and see that your modem is enabled and working properly.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!
