Your fan could be shot and causing the overheat.

If it's still under warranty, send it back to microsoft.

Yes I do . Some times when console take a fall or get bump hard
it will dislodged the heat sink from the C.P.U. breaking the thermal
seal . Then the console will over heat in 1-5 min .

The Fix is simple . open the unit up and press down evenly
and firmly on the large heat sink to re-seat it to the C.P.U.
leave it open turn it on and repeat if it over heats again ,
sometime it takes a few attempts .

Black screen says system error e-73

Welcome to Fixya

E73: General Hardware Error: Ethernet port... this error is caused by a problem with the Ethernet port. Try this troubleshooting. Remove the A/V cord from the back of the XBox 360. Stick two sticks into the fans to prevent them from spinning. This will cause the system to overheat within five minutes. You will know its done when the first and third quadrants light up red on the system (indicating the system has overheated). Unplug the system, plug it back in and turn it on to see if it was successful. (Note: While this method does not void your warranty, if your XBox is still under warranty I suggest sending to Microsoft to fix.

THE XBOX HAR RED RINGS AND WON'T COME ON NOW WHAT DO YOU DO?

The three flashing red lights may indicate that there is a hardware problem with your Xbox 360 console or power supply., to try and quick fix - rap a couple of towels around the console and switch the console on leave for five mins. then switch off and on again the problem should be fixed- however this is not a long term solution

3 rings and door sticks 360 xbox

3 red lights is caused by the GPU and the CPU overheating, you will need to stop the heat build up.

You can fix it yourself with a good recommended Xbox 360 Repair guide or send it in.

If you need any help let me know.

The console keeps freezing after being switched on for about five minutes. when i switch the console on and off the problem reoccurs

im surprised it hasnt red ringed...but this is my advice, send it in to microsoft and tell them to fix it... because if you try to tamper with it, you will break the seal on it, and then microsoft will never touch it again, even if there is a hardware issue... like if your console does red ring...
