Your monitor could possibly have a backlight problem.. the wires to the lights are known to come off the lights in the screen.. if you try to check it your self be careful the lcd screen and lights are very frigile, nad can brake easly..

SOURCE: hp w1907 monitor stays on for a second when turn c...

It acts like it is not getting signal from the video card or it goes into shutdown mode to protect itself.
Try it on another PC first, if it still does not work then you will need to open iy up.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed HP monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

I recently bought a Hp Lcd w1907 Monitor off craigslist, the screen worked fine for about an hour then went black, button stays blue. Now every time I power on the monitor it stays lit for 3 seconds...

hi the cause is screen back light not working properly. you need to remove the back cover of the monitor to access the internal part of the monitor. then look for the connector of the cold cathode fluorescent tube back light going to the power inverter board of the back light you will noticed a dry joints which cause a loose connection that is why you hear a sound that cause of spark. you need to re soldered the connector or replaced if totally burned.

Hello, I m working on hp w1907 when press the power button the led stay blue it does not change color but the screen light for a few sec. than shut down.

A component inside the monitor has failed - hardware failure, the monitor will have to be opened and tested to identify it.
The fact that the light appears on the screen shows the fact that the power source and the inverter are functioning - the failure is located in the mainboard. Because the status light doesn't changes color it means that the processor of the monitor is no longer loading the firmware - the damage is too great to be repaired. The board will have to be replaced and that will be expensive: $110 for a new board + the shipping to your location. If you don't have at least a basic experience in repairing electronics a visit to repair shop will cost you another $100.
In my opinion this monitor is not worth this much money: for $200 you can buy a bigger and better new one.

When I start the computer the Windows XP Logos light up on the Monitor (HP w1907) when the computer starts the Logo disappears and the monitor goes to sleep

If this monitor (HP w1907) is going into sleep mode the normally blue power led will change to yellow. This indicates loss of video signal or possible out of range resolution. If the picture goes dark and the power lite stays blue, you have a backlight malfunction. It can be an inverter power fault but this model mostly has worn out backlights causing a shutdown condition.

HP w1907 LCD Monitor blacks out after 1 minute

Hi,

Check your monitor cable, try to reseat it (VGA / DVi port) at the back of the computer. If it still does turn off try to reseat the graphics card (if you have an expansion card) If reseating wont fix it, try this monitor to another computer and see if it still turns off. if not, then it is a problem on the video card of your computer, if yes it means your monitor is faulty.

Hope this helps.

My hp w1907 monitor turns on for about a min. then back off. What is the problem

Sounds like a bad inverter. Does the screen still show that the power is on? If so, then shine a bright light at it. If you can still see the image, then you have your answer. -=/ Daft Tech /=-
