My Ps2 will not play alot of my games, they all show "unable to read disk" while there are no scratches at all on my games, how can i fix my problem? thanks, Tommy

the optical eye / laser is faulty or dirty. this is a common isue with PS2s. Attempt cleaning the optical laser with a qtip and see if games will play. if not test with a cd and see if will read. if it doesnt read either replace the unit.

I recently bought a Kingdom Hearts 2 game and tryed to play it on my PS2 but everytime I put it in a disk drive it does this weird noise and then in a couple of minutes says that it cant read the disk. But...

What is probably happening is that the disk is either too scratched or too dirty to be read by the PS2's optical drive. Try cleaning the disk with a disc cleaning kit or by simply rubbing in with a microfiber cloth or 100% cotton shirt. If that fails to make it clean enough to be read, then you will have to get another, cleaner copy of Kingdom Hearts 2.

My PS2 tells me "this disk can't be read".

HI.This will occur when the optical assembly becomes unstable. this ((Whole One Piece)), assembly incorporates the spin/load motor, optics housing /arm, tracking device and tracking rail and both lens. This is housed in the loading dock assembly(Drive). This 'NO Disc' or CD NOT PLAYABLE, code is the result of a failed or burned out lens. It is possible that you have a dirty lens cap. you can try using a cleaning disk in this case to confirm actual lens failure. if the cleaning doesn't restore normal reading capabilities, this will confirm my diagnosis.

You will need to have the optical assembly replaced in this case. once replaced, your unit will be able to read and track once more.

My PS2 wont read any disk.

HI, the optics assembly has failed. the actual optical lens assembly will need to be replace in this case. you can try to clean the lens with a cleaning disk.. this may wake the laser. if the cleaning doesn't produce results, replacing the optical lens assembly will be the next move.

Well my problem is my playstation 2 dont read any disc

HI, this can be corrected by replacing the optical lens assembly in your unit. it has failed. The optical assembly is responsible for the reading and transfer of vital information to the main board for optimal gaming. the lens on this particular unit is burned out or, the spin motor has failed.
