I have the same problem. Dryer is not working. We are trying to replace the control board, but can't seem to get the wires right. Can get the dryer to turn on by opening and closing the door (but not heat). When we switch wires around, dryer is not working at all. Does anyone have a wiring diagram?

maytag dryer mde7400ayw. i just replaced the moisture sensor that is in the drum. i even cleaned out the lint vent and the intellidry still does not work. do i now have to replace the circuit board to the intellidry that is in the back of the dryer/inside. also my timer is not working. i guess i need to replace the timer as well or is there a separate problem that will fix both the intellidry and the timer. i attempted to take out the knob but i could not without be worried i would break it. should i just pull harder or is there a screw hidden in there!!!!!! my dryer is only 3-4 yrs old. is this normal for a maytag. thank you so much for your help.

My electric dryer will start but will not keep running

If it makes a growling sound when starting or the drum is very hard to turn by hand then you prob have the motor overload shutting down the motor preventing overheating of said motor. If your dryer is on of them fancy smancy dryers with on board sensor to detect moisture and save enegy by shutting down quicker then you could find the sensor strips inside the dryer (usually below and back of filter) clean it good with windex and retry. The wax from dryer sheets gum and sometimes metal objects short out the sensor strips and so the controls thinks the clothes is dry. Goes into shut down countdown.

Whirlpool Dryer Various Test Procedures - Part 3

TEST #5 Moisture Sensor
NOTE: This test is started with the machine completely assembled. This test is performed when an automatic cycle
stops too soon, or runs much longer than expected. NOTE: Dryer will shut down automatically after 2-1/2 hours.
The following items are part of this system: Harness/connection, Metal sensor strips, Machine control electronics
1. Activate the diagnostic test mode and advance past saved fault codes.
2. Open the dryer door. If a continuous beep tone is heard and an alphanumeric number is displayed on the console as soon as the door is opened, a short circuit exists in the moisture sensor system. If this doesn’t happen, go to step 3. Otherwise, go to step 4. NOTE: Over drying may be caused by a short circuit in the sensor system.
3. Locate the two metal sensor strips on the inside of the dryer. Bridge these strips with a wet cloth or finger.
If a continuous beep tone is heard and a software revision number is displayed on the console, the sensor passes the test. Go to step 8. If not, continue with step 4.
4. Access the moisture sensor wires: Remove the lint screen. Remove the two wires holding the lint screen to the top. Remove the four screws from bottom of the duct in rear. Remove the duct from the dryer to access
the moisture sensor.Disconnect the sensor connector.
5. Access the machine control electronics. Remove the connector P13 from the circuit board. Check the main
harness connections between the sensor connector and machine control for a short or open circuit. Replace the main harness if necessary. If the harness is okay, continue with step 6.
6. Measure the resistance across the outermost contacts of the sensor connector that includes the two MOVs. Sensor Harness with MOVs (Metal Oxide Varistors) Sensor Connector Sensor Blower Housing Disconnect sensor connector. If a small resistance is measured, check for debris across moisture strips inside of the drum; clean if debris is present. If debris is not present, replace sensor harness with MOVs. Otherwise go to step 7.
7. Measure the resistance across each of the outermost contacts and the center terminal (ground connection).
If a resistance less than infinity is measured, replace the sensor harness with MOVs.
8. If moisture sensor diagnostic test passes, check the thermistor: Perform TEST #4a. If the problem persists after replacing the moisture sensor, harness with MOVs and thermistor, replace the machine control electronics.

TEST #6 Buttons and Indicators
This test is performed when any of the following situations occurs during the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic Test:
None of the indicators light up No beep sound is heard
Some buttons do not light indicators None of the indicators light up:

1. See Diagnostic Guide/Before Servicing.
2. Perform TEST #1 to verify supply connections.
3. Perform TEST #2.
4. Visually check that the P5 connector is inserted all the way into the machine control electronics.
5. Visually check the user interface assembly connections.
6. If both visual checks pass, replace the user interface assembly.
7. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
8. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.
9. If indicators still do not light, the machine control electronics has failed: Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
Replace the machine control electronics. Plug in dryer or reconnect power. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.
No beep sound is heard:
1. Visually check that the P5 connector is inserted all the way into the machine control electronics. If visual check passes, replace the user interface assembly.
2. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
3. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.
4. If replacing the user interface assembly failed: Unplug dryer or disconnect power. Replace the machine control electronics. Plug in dryer or reconnect power. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.
Some buttons do not light indicators:
1. Visually check the user interface assembly connections. If visual check passes, replace the user interface assembly.
2. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
3. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostics test to verify repair.

TEST #7 Door Switch
Activate the diagnostic test mode and perform the Door Switch Diagnostic test.
Functionality is verified with a beep each time the door is closed and opened, and a number and letter appears in the display (i.e., 0E, 09). If any of the above conditions are not met: Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
Check that the wires between the door switch and machine control electronics are connected. If the connections are OK, replace the door switch assembly and retest. If the door switch assembly has been replaced and dryer still does not start, replace the machine control electronics.

Timer goes from 34 mins to 30 alright but it drops to 20 mins from 30 clothes are nt dry when it stops

First did you change the control board If so what were the symptoms before you changed it ? Does the dryer heat up ?How much of the dryer did you disassemble? Did you check the vent for lint buildup? Does the dryer display any service codes? If you changed the control board for a different problem and only took the top off the dryer providing you installed all the connectors properly I would suspect a defective control board. FIRST UNPLUG THE DRYER. If you removed the front of the dryer you might want to check the connector going to the moisture sensors usually mounted on the front of the dryer near the lint filter.
Also. Check to. make sure the moisture sensors are clean of any items that might cause them to have high resistance. Using the wiring diagram ( found under the top of the dryer) and ohmmeter check for an open connection between the sensor strips and the control board and repair if necessary. If this does not work try removing the thermistor to see if there is anything between it and the dryer housing. Check it for proper resistance and check that it connects to the control board.

What does the code F2 mean in the time window of the Whirlpool Cabrio gas dryer and how do I reset the machine?

Whirlpool Cabrio & Kenmore Oasis Dryer Error Codes
  • PF--Power failure
  • AF--Restricted air flow
  • F01--Primary control failure
  • F02--Keypad/User Interface failure
  • F22--Exhaust thermistor open
  • F23--Exhaust thermistor shorted
  • F24--Inlet thermistor open
  • F25--Inlet thermistor shorted
  • F26--Motor drive system failure
  • F28--Moisture sensor open
  • F29--Moisture sensor shorted
  • F30--Restricted air flow

looks like you have a problem with the touch pad, abutton could be stuck or not responding, you can try unplugging it,get to the computer board and unplug the ribbon from the touch pad, reconnect it and try it,this sometimes resets the touch pad,if it doesn't you'll need to replace the touch pad.

He3 dryer no heat electric F01 code in diagnostics also f 28

The F1 error code means that the control board has detected a error within the control itself
the F28 means that the moisture sensor is defective, now the moisture sensor is justa metal bar that fits into the front of the drum and hardly ever bad so sad to say both error codes point to a bad control board that would need to be replaced.

My Maytag dryer model number MDE5500AYW has lights on, but won't switch settings. It is stuck in time dry at 18 minutes. Yesterday it was on sensor dry 47 minutes. Do I need a new control board inside...

OK, your control board and LED are integrated, so you will need to just replace the control board. I would try a hard reset before replacing the board. Pull the plug or, shut down the appropriate breaker switch for 5 minutes. Re apply power after the 5 minutes are up. if you continue to experience this fault, replace the control board asap.

Dryer not turning off when clothes are dry (model LDE 400ACL)

Normally if you have an automatic cycle that turns off the dryer when the clothes are dry, it will do it with a special thermostat or moisture-sensing system. The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a "pre-set" temperature.
When the dryer reaches the pre-set temperature, the thermostat tells the timer to begin advancing. If there is a moisture sensor, the timer advances only if the moisture content of the clothing is low enough. The timer advances until the interior cools, then the termostat tells the timer to stop advancing, and tells the dryer to start heating again. This cycle continues until the clothes are dry. But... if the vent is clogged, the dryer may never reach the proper operating temperature, so it doesn't send the signal to the timer and the dryer continues to run indefinitely, even if the clothes are completely dry. To fix this problem, clean the vent and/or internal ductwork and make sure the vent is not compressed or kinked. If that doesn't work, then your thermostat, moisture sensor or timer could be the culprit.

Moisture sensor not working

No parts needed for this repair! Get a warm damp cloth and reach inside the rear of the dryer and clean the **** off the 2 strips of metal in the back called sensors. Next get the rear of the timer panel off and yank out the small computer board next to the timer. This is the moisture sensing board. Get some alcohol and clean the copper contacts. Shove the board back in and retry.
