There may be a problem with your connection on the Wii. I would try erasing the connection on the Wii and starting over. If that still doesn't work, when is the last time you updated?
The Wii may not be able to use the wireless it has because of the broadcast channel from the router. You would need to go into the routers settings and change the channel to either 1 or 11. The default is usually 6 but that tends to be weak. Retry the connection.

I don't know how it works but you get Wii Shop Points by either buying them with your credit card or going to a game store and buying them there. Then you add your Wii shop points and buy the channel. There are some channels that are free. The internet channel is not.
You can do both. With internet you can download Nintendo 64 games on the wii shop channel. For game cube games enter the controller in slot one, enter the game and it's like you don't have a wii!
Note: due to the fact the the wii remote does not have enough buttons ALL N-64 games need a gamecube controller or a classical controller. Game Cube games are not compatible with classical controllers.
yea you have to go to one of the channels if there is not one go to the wii shop channel and go to installations and install the internet and when its done intalling it (it may take a while) should work the internet with the wii isnt that fast and cant take on some websites (dont worry it can take youtube and its pretty fast on that website) sometimes when you chek the wii installations on the wii shop channel there will sometimes be new updates for internet channel (free)
