Question about Weber Grilling

1 Answer

The grill is not staying consistently lit, there are portions that get fire and some don't so it's uneven. I try to keep lighting those areas not staying on but they remain inconsistent. I believe it's got a clog in the pipe and wonder how to make it clear?

You need to take out the burner(s) and clean the venturi tubes with a special long skinny venturi brush. the bugs are attracted to the smell of the gas and get in there and build nests or webs. it they are not kept clean you could even have a backflash because the gas can't get through the burners and comes back out the front around the valves and the knobs.

Problem with fire staying lit. I start the fire in a chimney starter. after they are lit and i dump them into the smokey joe and put the lid on the fire slows or goes out. The vents are open. I have...

You may be emptying the chimney too soon. Give it time to ignite all the coals. If you spread out the coals too soon, they will not support each other to stay lit. You also need enough coals for them to ignite each other if one goes out. Every briquette should be touching at least one other unless you are doing a long, low-slow roast where you have a separate fire going to heat replacement coals.

Grill not lighting propery. It either does not light at all or it's a burst of flame. When its a burst of flame the burners stay lit and operate perfectly. Any ideas? I've tried adjusting the air...

Check for grease on the spark electrode-- does it showa large spark or not ----

try to light bbq with a match or bbq igniter ---- i would be shocked if it is a gas issue but if it lights it will be a bad igniter. ensure the sparking tips are clean and not broken

Will not stay lit,I have a new gas tank and it light the first burner but will not light others and will not stay lit

Turn off the propane tank and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes, reconnect the hose and turn the tank valve on very, very slowly, until it's completely open.

Now light each burner one a time and turn it to high. If the burners all light and the flames remain burning on high for more than a few minutes, you're back in business. Just remember to turn the tank valve on very, very slowly after turning it off each time.

If the above didn't solve the problem, are you sure you tank gas a significant amount of gas in it?
If that's the case (empty tank), when you replace it, do exactly what I said above when you connect a full tank to the grill hose.

Hope that solved your problem. Happy Grilling!

Grill's fire won't stay lit

Try banging on the tubes feeding the burners with a heavy pair of vice grips or a hammer. It usually shakes the carbon loose to allow for free flow of gas.

Grill wont stay lit

These new tanks have a safety device installed in them . If you open the valve quickly or tip the jug the damn thang won't work. Take the tank loose, open all the grill valves and close all valves. Reconnect the tank and SLOWLY open the valve a hair. Light the burners. No need to open the valve all the way. if you do the dumb safety will plug the jug.

Fire Magic won't lite

In order to not void your warranty you should not attempt to fix this yourself right now. Vendor has the legal obligation to be of service. You can even demand a full refund if they do not try to help. better business bureau could be of service in these cases too.
