Question about Sanyo PLC-XU47 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

I accidentally locked both the REMOTE and the TOP CONTROL on my PLC-XW55 Media Projector. I looked into the User Manual for answers as to how to resolve this problem but they only tell us to contact Service Center for help.

Since it's Christmas, everybody at Sanyo is on holiday so I was wondering if you guys could help me out with this issue. Thanks.

If you accidentally lock the projector, you need to disconnect the AC power cord. Then HOLD the SELECT button at the same time as reconnecting the AC power cord again.

This should reset the lock out.

Control panel is locked

If the Panel Key Lock feature was set to 'on' so that the Remote Commander could be used the user manual, page 34, says, "If you press and hold the MENU key for about 10 seconds when the power is on, the lock will be released and "Panel Key Lock" is automatically set to "OFF"."
However, if the Security Lock feature was set, which requires a password, and you don't know what the password is you have to call the Sony Customer Service center and be ready with the device's serial number and your personal information.

Miss operation to launch "Control

When the control panel lock ON of the projector so that the projector can be operated only with the REMOTE CONTROL.
If you loos your remote control then keeping the POWER key on the projector control panel pressed for 10 seconds turns the projector ON when it is in standby mode, and turns the projector to standby mode when the power is on. If you press and hold the MENU key for about10 second when the power is on the lock will be released and "panel key lock" is automatically set to "OFF"

Warning light on projector. The projector turns off.

Has it overheated?
Has the lamp expired?
Has a fan stopped working?
Has the ballast unit failed?
Which lamp is flashing?
More details please if it is not one of those common problems.
Thank you

I've connected the projector to my laptop using the VGA cable as stated in the manual. The projector reflects as it should, i can access the menu and input options which i then select RGB scart (though...

Not with any RGB input options, computers are not compatible with these. The projector needs to be set up to receive VGA. There must be a toggle button or menu entry somewhere on your projector that lets you do this or why would it have a VGA input?

I need to replace the VGA cable on my Sanyo projector, model PLC-XW55. I don't know what to get. It's a male-male cable .

Hi hotpinkvalen
If you have a VGA cable, take it to a computer shop or **** Smith and buy a new one.
Just tell them you want a VGA cable. It costs $6 to $10 depending on the shop.
If you don't have one, and if you don't know how it looks like, goto any desktop computer and have a look at the cable which is connected from the computer to the monitor.
It is a male-male cable both ends of the cable have 15 pins.
Hope this will help you
Best of luck
