Jet pulse carb will not feed gas to engine after start

Jet pulse carb will not feed gas to engine after forced start. carb just rebuilt from kit. hand over garb air intake forces gas into carb throat cause temp start. ?? ignition fine, compression fine, new keyed flywheel. valves tight.
past history showed gas belch through carb throat and post burn flume through muffler when it was running. whole head plug exhaust was fowled with ''soot''. maybe internal engine damage?? noticed, however, when running excessive gas splashing in throat of carb...before carb rebuit .

Got a craftsman C459-36310 159 cc walk behind lawn mower that wont start. its only a year old. ive changed gas and removed spark plug. it looks good.I added gas to spark plug and it turned over. help!

The needle jet in the carb is most likely to have varnish on it from sitting and the carb needs to be rebuilt at this point. You can get a rebuilt kit for it cheap. As long as you are getting air, fire and fuel to the engine it should run. Check to be sure you are getting these items to the engine and if not repair that item.

I got a Tory Bilt weed eater the Model-TB2OCS and I just put in new fuel linds and a new fuelter.

Verify that the new gas lines are on the carb correctly and the bulb is holding gas. If that is ok then the carb is needing to be rebuilt because one of the jets is plugged up or both. If you pour gas in the carb and it starts and runs for a short time then the carb is probably the problem. You can buy a rebuilt kit for them cheap.

Starts but cuts off when you turn throttle up.

idle circuit is good but main jet circuit is not feeding the motor and hence it cuts out when you give it gas. Carb needs to be thoroughly cleaned/rebuilt.

Can I change gas tank and carb from vacu jet to gravity feed.

depends on what make and model engine u got , me I run ole motorcycle carbs (I got a mess of em!!) on my gas tractors , they draw a bit more fuel but don't require a pump to draw gas as long as tank is at same level as carb is mounted, a company called mienuki makes a few I like , but ill warn you the adaptor to mate up carb to engine is totally hand fab'ed so its a little work to mate it up

1963 vw newly rebuilt engine, starts then dies at RPM acceleration

Could be one or both of two things.

1. The accelerator pump in the carb is clogged, the linkage is unhooked, or the diaphram in the pump is bad. It's cheap to replace and comes in the carb rebuild kit. This usually just causes hesitation when you step on the gas pedal. It doesn't usually cause the engine to stop running.

2. More likely is that the main jet in the carb is clogged. At idle, high vacuum under the closed throttle plate in the carb causes fuel to flow thru the idle jet. As the throttle plate opens (as you step on the pedal), the vacuum under the plate dissipates, stopping the flow of fuel thru the idle jet, and the vacuum ABOVE the throttle plate increases, which is supposed to then draw fuel from the carb bowl thru the main jet in the carb. If the main jet is clogged with dirt, then it can idle just fine and die as soon as you step on the pedal.

I've got the 1850 Pulse which I can't get it to run. I've cleaned the carb 4 or 5 times, and cleared holes and jets with a fine wire. New gas in tank, plenty of gas flow to carb. I can start with gas...

Harold, it sounds like fuel based issue, have you checked the screen on the fuel tank? this should be a gravity feed, and not pumped fuel...Try an external fuel supply, for testing purposes....

I have a electric generator with a 5 horse briggs engine it was hard to start and ran with full choke. I ordered a rebuilt kit # 495606 and installed. The only way the engine will run , is to pour gas...

it has a blocked fule line and maybe blocked jets in the carb first clean all the fule lines from the tank down check the filter in the tank as well they do get rust in them, if fule is reaching the carb strip carb and clean all jets,, dont go poking wire into the jets it could distroy them check that the flote is free and lifting then clean the air filter and try starting it up,,,it should run ok then

My sons 50cc quad wont run properly, it has a auto choke and wot run unless i keep my hand over the air hole

The carb jets are clogged and in need of cleaning, when the jet clog, the engine doesn't provide enough suction to pull the gas through the clog,When you cover the breather hole, you force all of the suction from the piston's decompression stroke to the carb which allows it to **** the gas.

So to make a long story short. The carbs internal parts need cleaning.

Please take time to rate this fixya

I've never seen a KT100 before, but i've worked with similar engines.
The fuel isn't gravity fed. It uses a pulse pump system using diaphragms in the carburettor to sort of "**** and blow" the fuel using pressure impulses and valves to stop the fuel going backwards.

The first place you should look is if there is a short pipe from the crankcase to the carb so that the pressure pulses from the case can move the diaphragms. You should be able to see this from some pics on google images. If thats all ok, you should check if the carb is perfectly clean. If its still giving you problems, change the diaphragms in the carb. You should be able to get a replacement rebuild kit from a dealer.
