LaCie silverscreen Utilities CD-ROM

I have a LaCie silverscreen without CD-ROM & instructions. I unfortunately deleted the hidden operating files on the hard drive enabling it to play on my TV. I am unable to recover these files and cannot find anywhere to download the LaCie silverscreen Utilities CD-ROM. Can anyone recommend where I can find the appropriate drivers or give me a copy?

The OS is hidden in memory, you can clear all files off the machine and it will still work.

The only requirements are the 4 folders:
Firmware
Movies
Music
Pictures

That's it!

New firmware can be found at www.lacie.com

''No files found'' Lacie Silverscreen 500gb

You'll need data recovery to fix this problem. If the hard drive makes broken sounds there is a hardware problem. You can try to do data recovery yourself, there is some good content on youtube. If you want somebody else to do it for you there is Data Recovery NYC. Also there is good informaation on logic board repairs on hddguru.com.

Lacie Silverscreen 80Gb Drive not recognised by My Dual Processor PC

Sorry for the late reply, but it may help someone else with the same problem.

Are you using a USB2 port, perhaps it's may not be getting enough power. In the orginal Lacie box was a double USB dongle - it allows you to take the power from two USB ports and send them to the Silverscreen, if the SScreen was getting quite enough power.

Or buy a double USB power cable (like: http://www.n-c.fr/webshopncrevendeurs/catalog/images/Double_Cable_USB.jpg)

Otherwise remove the 2.5" disk (remove two screws, & gently pull out) and use a caddy to check the HD disk is still working.

Deleted 4 folders for lacie silverscreen 500gb

Dead easy, simply attached the SScreen to your PC/Mac and create the four folders:
"Movies"
"Pictures"
"Firmware"
"Music"

It requires these four folders to boot the OS!

Lacie silverscreen

did these movies come from licensed sources, by chance? You may be running into a simple issue of licenses not transfering from your HD/computer to the storage unit.

If you can use software to encapsulate the VOB file(s) in an ISO, it will play them in order.

You can not see DVDs in "unpacked" mode (at least not satisfactory), you have to have them in iso format. The firmware is not a problem, the new firmware brings support for more HD drives only.

I reccomend connecting you computer directly to your tv, depending on which mac you have. DVI or vga. I'm sure the manufacterer does as well. The files maybe in a codec your tv does not compute.
