Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Philips 60pp9200d/37 no video or sound. Power light flashes error 61. There is a spark gap component on the LSB board which arcs when the set is first plugged in, before the error is flashed. Picture tubes filaments also come on momentarily. No other physical signs of damaged. Installed a new LSB and MSB board with no change.

I do recommend checking the power coming out of the power supply to make sure it is not to high. It is common for these units to have faulty internal capacitors in the power supply. It may be shorting out other components. You can buy a capacitor tester or use an ohmmeter.

I had the same problem. It is error code 61 which is a power supply fault. Had a bad LSB board (pn: 313926719011 from MCM Electronics) which blew out on of my CRT. If you have any observed arcing in your CRT's, they are bad and will need to be replaced. I went to Ebay and found a used compatible Philips brand to replaced the CRT. Do not isolate the high voltage lines of the bad CRT to troubleshoot with a bad LSB. The LSB will short out another CRT (it did on mine). I bought the service manual an learned the set does not tolerant of power line surges. If you fix it, invest is a good surge protector.

You will need to purchase the small signal board......they are kind of difficult to remove and replace. They sometimes look like a small aluminum sandwich box or they look like a video card out of a computer. Read the instructions to replace and reprogram this. Look up at the Philips Partstore.com. Type in model # and see small signal board......These canbe pricey $$$$$$$$

Hi thanks for replying

The clicks you are referring to sound like High Voltage Leaks or Arcing. While it is clicking check for sparks around the high voltage transformer only with your eyes from a distance. If you see sparks shut it off immediately.

relay clicking is a power board failure --- part of the board still works to supply power to the flashing lights--- the lights are related to an error code while in protection mode

6 blinks means general I2C error and 8 blinks means 3D comb filter I2C error. you will need a new signal board for your set, or possibly have yours remanufactured which may be considerably cheaper than a new board. If you need more info please repond to this same post and let me know.
