I want to clear and reload the bios without taking the CMOS battery out for a minute. I'm getting that Build number: 1235 PC 14.4, is there a way without messing with the battery.

You can clear the cmos by removing the bettery, wait for 10 to 15 seconds then reinstall the battery. you can also clear the cmos by transferring the jumper of cmos clear from your mother board. remove the jumper from pin1-2 then transfer to pin3-4 then return to pin1-2 then power on

ok you reset your bios by given process

Yet another way to clear the CMOS is to reseat the CMOS battery. By removing and then reinstalling the CMOS battery, you remove the source of power that saves your computer's BIOS settings.

Another way to clear the CMOS is to short the "CLEAR CMOS" jumper on your motherboard, assuming you have one (most motherboards do).

Did you swap the Cmos jumpers from 1-2 to 2-3 to clear Cmos before replacing battery and if so, did you return them to their original position (normal as opposed to clear cmos)? If the jumper is still in the clear Cmos position, the board will not boot.

Try changing the Cmos battery, it may appear to work but may not be suited to the board

Disconnect all drives except the hard drive, unplug usb and sound cables, if fitted, remove graphics card and either test with another one or use the onboard graphics.

P4SD-BO-R bios updates / manual

You will NOT get around the password. None of the tricks work. BUT, there is a very easy solution for bypassing the Password on this %$$##@@!! MB. There is a small green jumper near the CMOS battery. It covers 2 pins. Remove that jumper. You're Bios is now no longer password protected and you can do that micro update stuff. OK, so I solved your problem. Now someone else's turn to solve mine. I cannot get the audio to work on this delightful MB. Downloaded the new drivers, etc. Anyone out there solved this one? Running XP.

Thanks,

Gregg

This is the best thing you can do, reset the the CMOS setup by removing the battery, and the jumper switch to clear CMOS and then power ON and OFF the computer, return back the battery and also the clear CMOS jumper on its original settings.. and then your done. Power ON the Computer..

Note: the clear CMOS jumper can be seen always near the battery or in the lower right part of the motherboard. it has has 3 pin and the default setting is must be 1 , 2 and the pin 3 , 4 is also for clearing the CMOS. ü
