So you think it is a thermostat problem instead of an element being burned out problem?

Hello this often happens after cleaning. What has occurred is the heating element was on its last legs and that self cleaning reswulting in extreme heat for a long time did it in.

you will have to have a technician come in and replace the heating element.

Hi,

On the back of the unit there should be a thermastat. You need to test it for continuity. If it does not have continuity replace it.

You can try to reset the thermocouple as well. It's located on top of the oven, and accessible by removing a panel on the front

Let me know, if need further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

There might be many other reasons, like Faulty Control board, Bake elements etc.

I have told you to check thermostat as i have seen issue with thermostat in Dacor Models. I cannot jump to any conclusion.

    To check element :-

To check them put the oven on broil. If the element on the top starts
glowing red then it is okay. Then put it on bake and turn the oven to
    350. Check the bottom element to see if it starts turning red. If it
    doesn't then it is bad.

Let me know, once you done with all the tests.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Oven won't heat

You may have a blown thermal fuse in series with the heating elements. If the oven exceeded the maximum allowable temperature during self-clean, the fuse will open. See this discussion:

My whirlpool oven model RBD245 is locked after the self cleaning cycle, it does not heat up even if i open the latch with a tool?

Whirlpool have the self clean latch assembly solenoid go bad and wont return back to unlock the switch to tell the control is is no longer in self clean. Replace the self clean latch assembly or make sure the switch on the assembly is in the non self clean mode, If the oven starts working then you know the problem if it still doesn't work then there may be other issues.

Contact a professional to have the unit diagnosed for repairs. Sounds like the heating elements are either faulty or the main control board won't allow the unit to heat up correctly.

Oven will not heat up.

If the oven won't heat, did you check both the bake and broil element? If both are not working correctly you are going to have a control board issue most likely. If only one works, then the other should just have to be replaced.

There is a overload thermostat on the rear of the oven that will have to be replaced.
Self cleaning features are not recommended by most appliance technicians.
Self cleaning causes parts to fail often.
