The virtual memory setting is too low.
Virtual memory needs to be greater than the amount of RAM that i sinstalled.
If you have 2GB of memory, then set the Virtual Memory to 2048MB + 512MB = 2560MB (or so)

Right-click [My Computer]
[Properties]
[Advanced] tab
In the "Performance" section, select [Settings]
[Advanced]
In the "Virtual Memory" section:
Note the page file size reported
select [Change]
[Custom size:]
Increase the "Initial size" to the new amount that you calculated.
[Set]
[OK]

Try to Reformat your Laptop and install all the driver. Be sure on the control Panel or click properties then at the appearance tab be sure that on the hibernate tab or on the enable hibernation is checked.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Sony VAIO VCG-FE770g, turns on automatically after pressing Hybernate or turn-off

Go into power option, select hibernate, uncheck box to the left to disable hibernate, this will free up disc space and get rid of the problem. If that is not an option do a system restore before the update

I have vaio vgn-fw390. my lab-top can not hibernate neither in windows nor in linux. i'll thank you if you solve my problem

Try running a system restore and restore your system back to an previous date when your hibernate is working.

Open System Restore by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking System Restore.? If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Note: Before you start System Restore, save any open files and close all programs. System Restore will restart your computer.

Or Try

sometimes the BCD file may have issues.

You can try this to fix the BCD file.

1. Run CMD.EXE as administrator

2. Run the following command: bcdedit -enum all

Look for "Resume from Hibernate" in the output from the command above(example below):

Resume from Hibernate

---------------------

identifier {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963}

device partition=C:

path \Windows\system32\winresume.exe

description Windows Vista (TM) Enterprise (recovered)

inherit {resumeloadersettings}

filedevice partition=C:

filepath \hiberfil.sys

pae Yes

debugoptionenabled No

3. Once you have found it, copy the value for identifier (in this example - {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963})

4. Run the following command: bcdedit /deletevalue {3d8d3081-33ac-11dc-9a41-806e6f6e6963} inherit

5. Test hibernation.

My vaio VGN-FW390 fan make noise.

The fan makes noise in high preformance windows like windows vista&7. So it is normal, because the windows uses motherboard, ram and graphics card with high preformance so they get hotter, so the fan get stronger to cool them or they will be damaged.
This noise also exist in windows xp, but only when opening high graphics game, or being working with the laptop for along time.

The sleep and hibernate buttons are grayed out. Running XP SP3 and on a Sony Vaio VGN-T150

install the keyboard drivers, go here:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=PCVW600G

Go down to the keyboard section and download that piece of software and install it. That should take care of the sleep and hibernate buttons not working.

Problem with hibernating mode

the hibernate mode is cancelled due to some motion in computer aplication for example: when you press any button in key board than the sestem restart or else if the mouse is touched than the system comes out of hibernate mode. Your cause woud be of due to of mouse movement. so if you want to avoid it than you just need to cover the touch pad with a piece of cloth

New battary is not compatible with the laptop

The "A" in the battery nomenclature indicates the fact that the battery without the "A" has been reengineered
and or updated so return, if possible, the outmoded battery indicating to the reluctant vendor, if so, that
refusal to do so can result in product liability, as some batteries can actually explode or cause fire, or at
least product malfunction as you are already experiencing.

Then go on to Sony's website and see if there are warnings for your particular battery, or if there is also
a warning that such batteries are in circulation that are knockoffs, counterfeits, that are egregiously guilty
of all of the above.

Now, in order to get the most out of your experience on the Sony website, please specify the EXACT model
on This Page as I have only the following: VAIO® VGN-FJ290P1 whereas the following are your alternatives:

VGN-FJ290P1B
VGN-FJ290P1G
VGN-FJ290P1L
VGN-FJ290P1R
VGN-FJ290P1V
VGN-FJ290P1W

Please let me know whether you are getting any error messages. Have you tried manually restarting the machine? Are you able to see light status on the laptop when you connect the power code? If the machine is in hybernate mode just press alt+ctrl+del and try and let me know whether its working or not.
