I have a PW1686 power washer but it runs for a few minutes then cuts off. After a few minutes it starts again then goes through the cycle of on and off. Kindly tell me what are the possible causes.

The problem sounds internal (perhaps the temperature cut-off switch or the auto-start-stop switch). For safety and possibly warranty reasons, you should not open the case to investigate or repair; take the unit to your local service center.
