Question about Google Chrome
Error code, as I'm sure many of you helpers on here have seen countless times:
Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): Unknown error.
I'm computer savvy, I don't freak out when something goes wrong and have decent experience (not IT personnel however) and well this problem I just cant solve!
I've seen the solutions by attempting to check security settings in %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings in the Temp folder. Now, here's the interesting thing: I don't have permission to view the Loacl Settings folder. Vista comes up with that annoying dialog box "You don't currently have permission to view this folder. Click continue to get access to this folder." Naturally, I click continue only to see another box appear, this time going on about how I have been denied permission to access the folder and I need to access the security tab (protip: the security's good, I have full access, yes I've checked it).
So okay, thats weird. If, in Run, I append \Temp\ to the local settings folder, then I get into the Temp folder. So its just the Local Setings folder.... Then I used cmd and browsed to local settings and asked for a dir, itsays the volume in drive C has no label, and gives me the volume serial number.It also gives this:
Directory of C:\Users\(my login name)\Local Settings
File Not Found
So, basically, I'm screwed. Help?
I ran a sfc /scannow check as well, didn't know if it was necessary but it didn't find any violations anyway.
Cheers guys and gals.
