Alarm keeps beeping

My home alarm is beeping about every 6-8 seconds. If nothing else, I would like to turn off until holidays are over

I have an hp home computer. I turn it on but mouse,keyboard,and screen wont come on.

Check all the connections from keyboard, mouse and screen to the pc. Also try unplugging any other devices.

The 2 jacks on the back of the Arris modem are labeled "1/2" & "2". The first jack labeled "1/2" means that the jack is capable supporting 2 different phone numbers, a line 1 and a line 2. The second jack labeled "2" means that it is capable of supporting only a second phone number. Therefore your 1 phone number is working correctly from the port labeled "1/2".

There are different types of phone splitters. It is possible that the one you used may have been to split lines 1 & 2 on a single jack into two seperate jacks. Take a closer look at the splitter and see if the 2 ports are labeled differently.

Disconnects whenever we recieve a call regardless of having filters on all the phones in the house

This is odd behavior; have you tried moving your DSL modem to a different phone outlet in the house? If you do so, make sure to move the filters around appropriately as well; the only type of filter the DSL modem should be connected to are the "Y" type filter that has a "DSL" port as well as a "phone" port.


Do you have an alarm system? If so, it will need a filter too. Try contacting your alarm company and asking them if the system has a filter installed. If they don't know, try to get inside the control box (the large metal box, not the keypad) and see if there's a filter installed - it should look pretty similar to a regular phone line filter.

If you don't see one, ask your alarm company if you can install it yourself and how to do so, or ask that they install one for you. Be aware though, they may try to charge for a technician dispatch; if the alarm system was installed after you got DSL, insist that they do it free of charge, as the installation technician should've asked whether you had DSL and installed a filter at the time of the alarm installation.


Also, I might suggest trying to disconnect all phones in the house (at the wall jacks), and then call your home phone from a cell phone and see if you still get disconnected. If you don't, try connecting one phone at a time and repeating this test until you do get disconnected.

At that point, try unplugging all the other phones except the last one you reconnected and test again. If it disconnects when you call, then this phone or its filter is your problem; if it doesn't disconnect, it may have to do with the number of devices attached to your line.

If you've narrowed it down to a single phone/device that is causing the issue, try swapping that device's line filter with another phone's filter that previously tested okay, and plug only the problem device in with the new filter - if your connection stays up when you call, you've got a shorted filter that needs to be replaced. If your connection still drops, there's something with that particular device that's causing issues; you may have to call the manufacturer of the device and see if they've had reports of similar problems.

It is having trouble with the cam settings with your modem. You need to contact Verizon and they should get you line out.

Speedstream 4200 lights no connection

Please check if the POWER light on your modem is solid RED.
Because if it is, your modem is already defective.
If you purchased it from your Internet Service Provider,contact them to check if your modem is still in warranty so they can replace it ot not.
If you purchased it from near computer shops near you, they it's time to buy a new modem.

Did you unplugg the modem or did you switched off the power from the back?

For the filters, did you use the right filter for the modem?

and another for your modem

Arris Modem connected to Mediacom Service

I didn't have incoming calls for a year (didn't mind, no telemarketers). But I fixed today.

Check with your home alarm company. Turns out they can download a signal. No, it wasn't the computer's internal modem, it wasn't the phone/cable company or the arris modem.

No need for service call.

I am having trouble accessing the ip address for this modem why?

jab follow the step below to access your DSL, the ip given is a default ip from the factory.
pls reset the DSL before you continue(press and hold for 4-6 seconds until the power button blinks red)

Connect a computer to the modem.
Turn on modem
Turn on computer
Use a browser to open
Click on Advanced.
(you then have lots of things to look at)

Cable modem + dlink router

Your modem needs to be rebooted in order for your router to pull an IP from the modem. To do this, look for a little hole in the back of your modem and use a pen to push the button. Wait for the reboot to finish and then try again in about 20 seconds.
