Actually some most related causes of the white screen problem are the one of the mention below.

1. Loose connection between the video cable and the LCD screen.
2. Defective LCD screen.
3. Defective motherboard

Have you noticed that in some cases the laptop screen may turn white because of poor connection between the video cable and the LCD screen. If you want to check this connection, you’ll have to take apart the display panel because the connector is located on the back side of the LCD screen.

You just check the video cable connection first. Reconnecting the video cable may fix your problem. If reconnecting the video cable doesn’t help, most likely you have a problem either with the LCD screen or with the motherboard.

Most likely you still can use the laptop with an external monitor.
Just connect the monitor to the VGA port on the back or side of your laptop and then switch the video output from internal to external mode.

When you turn on the laptop, it starts but the image on the screen is completely white right from the beginning.

On some laptops, in order to be able to use the external monitor,
you have to connect it to the laptop and then restart the laptop so the external monitor is detected by the laptop.

The best way to find out witch one is causing the problem is testing the laptop with another working LCD screen. Without this test you’ll have to guess because as I mentioned before this could either bad motherboard or bad LCD screen.

You’ll have to disconnect the video cable from the LCD screen (connector 2) and the inverter board (connectors 3 and 1). After that you connect another working screen and test video.

For this purpose you use one of my test LCD screens. My test screen is cracked and because of that you see a wide white band in the center but it still works fine for this test.

The original screen is white but my test screen works normal (except the crack of course) and I can see the image. After this test I can tell that the problem must be related to the screen.

Most likely cause is a fault on the motherboard. The graphics processor may be faulty or the solder connections from the graphics chip to the motherboard may be bad. This is not something that can be easily repaired and usually requires a new motherboard.

I think you will find, if you go to Power Settings, you will find your answer. It has been set for maximum system performance and minimum windows looks.
There is nothing wrong with the wallpaper, it is just removed to utilize maximum speed from the processing.
Hope this helps.

Well u can try to format the drive and load a fresh copy of the operating system. When its using short term memory to dump its boot errors then its never a good sign. Viruses cause this most often but a bad sector on the hard drive itself will also do this. If after you format the drive and still it does this then its time for a new hard drive.

Want to restore my Acer aspire 4720z!

From Acer direct

The other way before Vista starts up is to tap ALT + F10 (at the same time repeatedly) when the computer is first switched on.. The window of opportunity is very small, so this may take a few attempts

Once you have tapped both the ALT and F10 repeatedly, you may see a screen showing:

“Edit Boot options for Microsoft Windows Vista”

If you see this, unfortunately, you have missed the window of opportunity, and you need to restart, and try again.

If you see this:
“Edit Boot options for Windows Setup” OR “Edit Boot options for Acer eRecovery”

Then it indicates that you have tapped the ALT + F10 correctly, and all you now need to do is press “Enter” and the Recovery program should load on your screen after a short pause..

In some cases, you may need to remove the battery (for notebooks only) and run the machine directly from the mains.

The Disk2Disk recovery feature allows you to recover the system without recovery CDs.

This will return your system to factory settings and will delete everything stored on the machine.
If possible we strongly advise backing up anything important on your machine before starting the recovery process.

Whitescreen on Laptop

you have to open your laptop though. its the cable or wire from the LCD to the motherboard or graphics card. i think its because of the heat. just have to unplug it and plug it again for a few times.. or if you dont want to open up your laptop. there's another solution.first just power up your laptop and you may notice that although its pure while screen it is loading up its OS. after you think that it booted up all the way. snap close the lcd or press the lid button to make the laptop go stand-by. then when standing-by press any key to resume. the screen should go back to normal operation, if not wait a few minutes then close the lead again. and so so. thats what i do with my acer aspire 3640. i got bored so i open it up. so now its been okay so far. there ya go..

Pls help my e250 sandisk

Hi please try this steps. Turn off the player. Slide the hold switch to the other end for it to show the orange/red color. Then press and hold the menu button until it says welcome to recovery mode. Then if you haven't updated the firmware of the player this would be the best time to do it. Donwload the firmware update at their website and run it on your computer. When it asked you to connect a device connect the player and perform the update for the player hope this helps.
