Most NAV systems will have compass icon often in the corner of the NAV screen. When you disconnected the battery you simply went back to default settings.
Look for the compass icon and click on it or go into the NAV menu and scroll. Look for "settings" or customization and you should find the link to flip the map.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Engine codes are 12, 51,21,53,55 can someone tell me what these codes are. engine is running extremely rich.

12 is battery has been disconnected recently, or went dead.
51 is Oxygen sensor stuck on lean mixture reading
21- no change in oxygen sensor reading
53- internal problem with logic module
55- is end of message/codes.

51 & 21, basically telling you same thing, but I wouldn't jump at changing oxygen sensor first, as a bad M.A.P. sensor can cause a rich mixture, thus oxygen sensor switches to lean to try and compensate. Personally, I'd go with map sensor first, check connections and vacuum lines if all good, replace it, then I'd go to oxygen sensor .

1999 Lincoln Nav 2WD. Battery runs down overnight. Battery & Alternator test OK. Someone said it was some sort of Load balancing module ?? Gilbert

there is a sensor that levels the vehicle and a compressor.it has a shutoff switch in the back.turn it off and see if the dead battery problem goes away.i would wire it up so it only runs when the ignition is on.a further note, when getting oil changes tell them about it,some forget to disable it and the compressor can get damaged

Threatening shut down

It is probably your internal battery and needs replacement. There is a menu function to not shutdown when loss of power (under battery preference, after screen save). If you don't use the battery, try this.

Zumo 550 Shut Downs

The problem is with maps overlaying. If you go to the little spanner and then press Map and press Map Info you should only see one Map info. If you have more than one then you need to connect to a computer and go to the Garmin drive. Remove the additional map this will be called suppmap1. Just move it for the time being to you computer just in case you need to put it back.
Another way to check is to press and hold the Volume key on the left whilst powering up. This bring all the info for the unit. Press Next then More on the screen the map name is the 6th one down.
Whatever Garmin tells you to do will not work. I sent mine back and they replaced it within 5 days. Service on that score is excellent.

Mapping

For back roads, you will need a Topo mapping program, ie Topo USA 2008 or Topo Canada 4 (you don't mention what country you are in).

Topo Canada comes on four CDs, Topo USA 2008 comes on one DVD so you'll have to upgrade your drive, or else load the maps from someone else's computer.

Magellan Meridian Gold

I unscrewed the 6 screws holding the back to the Meridian Gold unit and looked at the contacts. I noticed that one of the curved prongs that makes contact from the battery to the unit was bent low so I knew it was not making contact and preventing the unit from working. So I very gently took the small screwdriver and pulled it out a bit so that contact was the same height as the other. Screwed the back back on, reinstalled the batteries, presto - works like a charm now. Anyone can do it.

Now I need someone to tell me what alternative GPS map packages giv e the most bang for the buck as my Map Send CDs were accidently thrown out by a well meaning person cleaning up my desk....
