Question about Kyocera FS-920 Laser Printer

1 Answer

The slot where the usb cable fits into the back of the printer has 4 pins in it, one of the pins was bent and has been straightened but the print will not print. The green light flashes slowly indicating data processing. Could this be a damaged network card. The printer is Kyocera FS920.

Well if you were using printing through usb? and now is damaged you have another options, print through network cable, or through parallel cable, and no if the usb port is damaged will not effect at all the network card or anything else.

Thanks for using Fixya

If you have not yet solved this issue , advise if you are on a paralell cable or usb cable connection? If it is a paralell connection pull the cable out and check for a bent pin, if affirmative straighten it out with small thin head pliers. If usb check that the correct driver has been loaded on the virtual usb port. Good Luck Ed Pinero

One of the pins is bent. Its not closing completely so when it prints the heads are not touching the media evenly causing this effect. We have four of these printers and have seen this before. You need to take some pliers and straighten the bent pin in the door to match the one on the opposite side. These pins are located near the top edges of the printer door.

When I try to put my memory card into my Canon EOS 50D Camera memory slot, it won't go in all the way. And I have tried a million times.

The two most likely causes are the card direction (I assume you've tried flipping it over), and bent pins in the bottom of the card slot. Take a look deep into the slot and look for any bent pins. They're very delicate, and don't like to be bent back and forth. I have had good success by straightening them with a thin screwdirver.

Nintendo ds bent pins

The part with the damaged pins is the slot-1 port. I know it seems rediculous, but this part is too impractical for most people to attempt a repair.

However, if you are savvy enough to attempt the repair of the damaged pins on your DS Lite, here are my recommendations:
1) Cut a flap in the slot-1 port cover and straighten pins.
2) Replace the main board.
3) Remove the slot-1 port cover and straighten pins.
4) Remove the damaged pins from the slot-1 port and straighten.
5) Replace the slot-1 port.

All of these recommendations require disassembling the DS Lite using a specialized triwing (or Y) screwdriver and a lot of patience. The following video will help in disassembly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQlTpTLUyFQ.

Recommendations 3 to 5 all require solder work. Recommendation 3 requires solder work for 4 solder joints, 1 at each corner. Recommendation 4 requires solder work for up to 17 solder joints, one for each damaged pin. Recommendation 5 requires solder work for all 21 solder joints.

PRINTER WONT FAX AND WON'T STOP PRINTING

Hello Ncerritos. I have an ideaj that may help. First disconnect the AC power. Second disconnect the RS232 or interconnect cable to the mainframe and look for bent pins in cable or socket. If you find pins bent I worn you they are no very fexable. If it is the cable it would be safer to replace the cable, If its the socket you may try straighting CAREFULLY. I wish you luck on this ventur.

Try a different memory card. Some of these cameras may not support large sizes. Try a smaller card such as a 512 or a 128.

Granddaughter forced memory card into slot incorrectly and bent pins

A long pair of needlenose pliers, or possibly tweezers. As you've noticed, it's near impossible to disassemble the needles from the mem card housing.

The things that usually go wrong with KVMs are bent connector pins (usually mouse or keyboard) or the switch itself. Inspect the mouse connector for bent or corroded pins. They are easy to bend and straighten, however, they will eventually break off if you do it often enough. If you find one that is bent the safest way to straighten it is by using a .7 diameter mechanical pencil. Remove the lead, and work the pin carefully into the pencil barrel. Once you have the pin inside the pencil gently straighten it by moving the pencil vertical. If it?s not a bent or corroded pin there isn't a whole lot else you can do other than try to get a warranty replacement or if its expensive enough, repaired.
