If the main light flashes 10 times when the door reverses it is a door sensor problem. Make sure the small light on each sensor is lit and not blinking. The sensors must be pointed at one another to work properly. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have a bad sensor.

Remove the cover from the motor unit and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor and may be stripped. If so you will also find what looks like white sawdust inside the motor unit.

The door will only travel a few inches and then stop and then goes back up. Or, it will travel to complete close, stop and then goes back up. Any thoughts?

Power shuts down when I try to close or open

Your motor may be working too hard anad ripping the reset button on the garage door,
Try increasing the power on the unit ( should be some type of dial.) or the door may be jamming up somewhere, Try disconnecting the opener from the door and see if it goes up easily, the door might need service
