    thanks nowuser for the reply.no, i'm not able to find those files even by there name.i understand that by just installing ms office i won't get those files automatically.but it's very strange that i formatted just c drive only and those files in excel and word were there in d drive and are missing now. i still haven't installed ms office yet.is it possible that they could be encrypted and present in temp files cuz i see a temp files folder in drive and there are some encrypted text there. please find a way out as those files were very imp.

Well are you able to see those files or...It seens that you are not so chances are they are lost...it will not make any difference if you install the ms office because that is just a program but the actual files need to be there...

    I Do not think that these would be the files that you are looking for however you can try opening them after u have installed the ms office.If your files were imp. you can take the system to a specialist who might be able to retrive the data incase the d drive was not for matted.

    I don't know anyone one in bombay who would do that however taking the system to pc shop might workas they might be able to give the information.Regarding the version to install it does not matter and would be upto you which one you can get.

What services can work with large amounts of data?

Excel really is not a good tool for dealing with large amounts of data. There are indeed tools that can. You might want to look at one of the several "Business Intelligence" products, like Oracle's "Business Intelligence, Enterprise Edition" http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-enterprise-edition/overview/index.html

Properties in importing excel table to an access table

This article explains how to import a Microsoft Excel file into Microsoft Access version 2.0 or 7.0. Microsoft Access can import files from Microsoft Excel version 2.0 through version 7.0. However, Microsoft Access cannot import Microsoft Excel 4.0 workbooks (.xlw). This article assumes that the Microsoft Excel file is using standard database formatting. That is:

To import a Microsoft Excel file in Microsoft Access 2.0 loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation');
  1. Save the file in Microsoft Excel using standard database formatting listed above. Close the file.
  2. Start Microsoft Access 2.0 and open the database you want to import the Microsoft Excel information into.
  3. On the File menu, click Import. From the Import dialog box, choose the appropriate version of Microsoft Excel that you are importing and click the OK button. Microsoft Excel 7.0 files are not on this list. If you are importing a version 7.0 file, choose the Microsoft Excel 5.0 option.
At this point options such as whether to append to an existing table or create a new table may be selected.
To import a Microsoft Excel file in Microsoft Access 7.0 loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation');
  1. Save the file in Microsoft Excel using standard database formatting listed above. Close the file.
  2. Start Microsoft Access 7.0 and open the database you want to import the Microsoft Excel information into.
  3. On the File menu, click Get External Data and then click Import.
  4. From the import dialog box, choose Microsoft Excel (*.xls) for the Files Of Type option.

    This will display only the Microsoft Excel files.
  5. Find the desired file and click the Import button.
The Import Spreadsheet Wizard appears and allows you to choose options specific to the file.

or you just use the link for any problem where you can get details of the importing

I accidentally reformat my removable hard disk, i need help on how to recover all lost data.

All your files are still stored on the removable hard drive.They're just invisible or inaccessible.You can recover them with data recovery software.

I used this one to recover files from my formatted external hard drive and it worked. Anyway,you can download it and scan your removeable hard drive for free to preview whether you can recover your data.
Hope this help!

Don't be panic. you can try some data recovery software. You can see
http://www.asoftech.com/adr/index.html
It tells the steps how to perform data recovery.

If above does not work, you may have to format the pen drive (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the pen drive and recover your files.

You may try some recovery software to rescue the files on your handy recorder, here are some for your option.

Photo Video Music Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Video Music Recovery for Mac

Both programs can also recover video and music files.

Note: Before your files are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the recorder in case the original files(your recordings) are overwritten.
