Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the telescope. DO NOT use the 2x barlow if you have one.

Go outside during the day and practice focusing on a distant object. The one with the largest number is also the lowest magnification.

i just have buy today a powerseeker 80 eq telecscope today , and i can't see any thing. im sure that the setup was good 100%. im using 20mm eyepiece but i can't see any thing even when im usuing the 4mm i can't see the closets objects.

  • Joe Lalumia aka TelescopeMan

Your scope WILL NOT focus on nearby objects! and the 4mm is too much magnification-- put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the diagonal and then put the diagonal into the focuser. Practice focusing on a DISTANT object-- during the day time. DO NOT USE the 2x barlow if you have one. Turn the focusing knob slowly until the image come to focus.

Cannot see anything thru telescope even daytime

  1. Get Stellarium or another fine astronomy program
  2. During the day, point the telescope at a part of the landscape about 100 yards away.
  3. Use the lowest power eyepiece (highest number) in the focal tube.
  4. Center the landscape object in the telescope.
  5. Align the finder scope so that it points exactly where the main telescope is.
  6. At night, leave the scope out to reach thermal equilibrium (about an hour for small reflectors and refractors)
  7. If the scope is on a EQ mount, polar align.
  8. Point the finder at the moon. The moon should be in the main scope also.
  9. Practice finding the moon before you start on the planets
  10. Once you are comfortable with the moon and planets, you can go for the deep sky objects

Cant see anything

Can you see anything during the day time? Practice focusing during the day time on a distant object using the eyepiece with the largest number written on it.

The moon should be your first target at night.

Dont know how to put the eye pieces on the telescope. cant see anything through the scope

Eyepieces ALWAYS go into the focuser. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the telescope. Take it outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object.

The moon should be your first target at night. Read my TIPS on my profile page.

I can't seem to see a darn thing , the lens cap is removed and lenses installed but i couldn't see anything last night

Telescopes have a VERY small field of view. You must be pointed directly at the object. Why not practice focusing during the day time on a distant object, and then try for a large target like the moon at night.

It multiplies the normal magnification of each eyepiece THREE times! In your small telescope you will probably never be able to use it. Magnification is the least important quality of a telescope.

Use the eyepiece with the largest number written on it, which is your LOWEST magnification. Practice focusing on a distant object during the day time. At night the moon should be your first target.
