The new bios you flashed is either not compatible with your system or has been incompletely flashed, you need to restore the correct bios for the system, for this you would require a floppy drive, the bios is divided into two regions static and volatile, routines in the static region cannot be changed and supports booting from legacy devices like floppy drive. you need to copy the bios files into the floppy and use this floppy to restore the bios, I have tried this on desktops 4-5 years ago, For this you need to power-on the system with holding some specific keys (the keys differ from system to system)

My battery went dead and after i charged the battery the air conditioning does not cool

What happens is, you have a battery and an alternator. The alternator charges the battery when the engine is running. It can only put out so many amps at 12 volts. A/C compressor runs off the engine, but the clutch for it is electric, and the blower fan is electric. When these are running, unless the car engine is running at above idle RPM's, your alternator may not be actually putting out enough amps to run the A/C AND charge the battery. So it is possible for the battery to go dead, especially if you start the car more than a couple times with out letting the battery charge. It happened to a friend of mine. He delivered newspapers, and it was a hot summer day. His A/C was on, plus, his car had 2 electric fans for the radiator. He was only idling along delivering his papers, and at one point he shut his car off. When he went to re-start, it was dead. He called me and I gave him a jump start, and told him to go for a ride down the expressway, to charge his battery. You see the A/C took say 30 amps, then each cooling fan for his radiator took say 20 amps a piece, then add in the stereo, and the power it takes to fire the spark plugs, and there wasn't enough left to charge the battery. Most cars these days only have 100 amp alternators. Older cars have less

My computer has a fully charges battery (I checked by seeing the lights on when I press the check button). I also checked by running power check in control tab. When I un plug the power cord the computer...

Sometimes with rechargable batteries such has those on laptop computers the battery develops a "memory". This is caused by the battery not being run completely dead before recharging. The cells in the battery think they are all charged but they aren't and thats why the computer says they are. This is very common in cell phones as well. It is a good idea to completely charge a new battery and run it completely dead for the first 5-10 charges or so to prevent this. It is also advisable to run the battery dead and fully charge it once a month from then on. If there is a batteries plus stone near you they may be able to test the cells. if it is a bad battery the have 3rd party as well has hp brand batteries that are cheaper than going thru the manufacturer. Hope this is helpful to you.

SWITCHES ON, FANS ARE RUNNING,NO DISPLAY SHOWING ,NO BEEPS OR ERROR. HAVE REPLACED THE MAINBOARD,DOING EXACTLY THE SAME THING

Hi Patrick,

I have seen this a few times over the years. It is a very common assumption that if the fans are running, then the power supply must be good. This is not a good assumption to make. It is actually quite common to have a power supply work enough to turn on fans but not be able to actually power up the system. Check this first, if this is not the problem, then you most likely have a dead CPU or dead Memory.

Hope this helps,
Brian

Paslode battery wont hold charge.brought new battery, same thing.brought new charger, same thing. put battery in gun, fan runs and then the battery is flat again.

if you have bought a new battery and charger , and it still will not hold a charge. you might have bought a bad battery or charger , also the fan dosent allways run so the fan going off is not a sign of a dead battery. depress the trigger or safety and the fan should start up again

My CPU fan for my Dell Dimension 2350 has stopped turning!

Hello,

If your fan is not turning at all then it is probably dead, the bearings are likely clogged with dust and such. The PC is shutting off because of heat buildup on the processor chip. You need to do an Ebay search for your model and order a fan right away. Continued running of your sysem without a fan will kill the processor and motherboard. You should be able to get a replacement fan for your computer for less than $15 including shipping. Your local computer store may have one to fit your system but they may charge more for it. To change the fan is very easy, the left side of the case will come off your system, right under the power supply is the processor and heatsink and the fan. Disconnect the old fan and reconnect the new unit.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution

Ups

I use my ups to run a fan, a lite, and my computer while I shut it down. An ups is only as good as it's battery. The larger the ups and it's battery, the more watts you can use. The battery will determine how many watthours you get. Some people will put a car battery to an ups. The ups may overcharge the battery and dry it out. The battery may be too much for the ups charging circuit and burn it out, dead ups. I put a 12 volt computer fan on my ups to keep it from overheating, another problem that comes up when you overuse an ups. Where I am, you have to deal with a power company that is not reliable, so I go the extra mile to get more comfort when the power is out.
