Question about Dell 3100cn Laser Printer
This is a little bit of a tricky one, First, remove any LAN/USB cable and cancel any print jobs. You will have to remove the top cover to easily rotate the "rubber" belt until you see the silver square appear near the foam "window"...actually more like a cutout.
Remove the drum cartridge from the top of the printer. Now, stand it up with the blue roller up and facing you. Then turn the blue roller on the very edges, so your fingers did not touch until a silver box shows up in the window (where the foam was) on the bottom right. Put it back together, and that should do it!! Good Luck :)
Hope This Helps

SOURCE: 016-302 please turn off printer.
That error is a CPU error, you may have to un-plug the network or USB cable when you power cycle the printer, could just be a document it is unable to print, and needs to be cleared without cables. Otherwise the CPU could be damaged from a static shock or something like that...

Try a firmware update.
if that doesn't solve it, reseat controller card.
if that doesn't solve it, replace controller card
For the 370 error, try the same steps. If they don't solve, then replace the Machine Control Unit.
Replaceing these parts can get expensive.

Error code: 016-370
This is yet another error message asking you to restart the printer. You need to switch off the printer and then connect it via the USB cable. Press the hold and cancel buttons simultaneously. Then power on the printer again. On your LCD display you should typically see a message saying 'ready for download mode'. You will then need to initialize the firmware update process. LCD will change to the writing mode. 10 minutes later you will be prompted to start the printer again.
The firmware is available here:
