IVE GOT A DTR DIGITAL TERRRSTRAL RECIEVER BUT NOW LOST ALMOST ALL THE CHANNELS I WAS GETTING BEFORE.I HAVE ONLY GOT 5 OF THE NEW CHANNELS INSTALLED

Thanks for the info. You didn't state the manufacturer but I think you must mean the Philips DTR1500/05.

The official advice when a retune has not turned out as expected is to try again at least twice, but from experience I'd add the advice that you should do so at different times of the day.

There are some boxes which are known to have problems with the retune; yours is not on the official list but the channel numbering details which you've given do confirm that it's primarily a problem with your receiver and not with your aerial system or reception quality.

There is no user fix for this. All you can do is to contact Philips directly, but your box is a 2003 model and no longer supported by the manufacturer. OnDigital/ITV Digital/Freeview technical standards have evolved a great deal since then as one operator replaced another and many earlier chipsets have been found to be incompatible.

Contact Philips by all means, but I think that you may be better off investing the £20 or so needed to buy a newer receiver. If it helps, yours uses a lot more power than the newest models so you will make some energy savings and your box was only designed with around a five year maximum expected lifespan anyway.

Rehook everythings,reboot ur box,by turn off/on.Go ur tv menu select for recan channels slect Cable.After rescan everythhngs shoud be back to normal.

Menu -> settings -> set-up menu -. auto start up

Rescan your tv for all channels.

Retuning Philips DTR 1500 digibox


Had same problem. Remedy is to put digibox back to factory reset. Dis-connect from mains. Keep pressing + button on front panel as you re-connect to mains. Red LED will be on, when orange LED blinks release + button. briefly press + button. You have solid red LED and blinking red LED. Enter code 9 9 0 0, by remote blinking LED will show green. Wait a few minutes and the instalation page will appear on screen. Go to update and start as you did before and C5 should be installed. Hope that helps.

Installed surround sound, no picture on tv


I could not get my TV to recognize an S-video signal from my reciever either. I ended up just bypassing the reciever and running the video straight from the cable box to the TV. It might be a better option anyways as some quality is lost if you run it through the reciever.
