Open the chuck fully and look down the centre and you will see a philips head for a screw the thread on this is opposite so instead of undoing to the left, undo to the right. There is will be a spot of threadlock on the screw so may be a tad tough the first turn, Once removed unscrew the chuck from the spindle of the drill, you may need a good pair of grips or a vice for this as some get very well stuck on! I hope this helps

SOURCE: REMOVE CHUCK

Remove the REVERSE-THREAD screw at the bottom of the chuck(if it has one). Set the clutch collar to the highest setting, and set the gear to the slowest setting on the transmission. Remove the power source! Get the biggest allen wrench you can fit in the end of the chuck(the shortest leg) and tighten the chuck down around it, allowing the jaws to rest and tighten on the flats of the wrench. Lay the drill on its side(chuck toward you, handle to the left, and allen wrench to the left, horizontal to the deck). Then with a hammer(soft hammer if you care about the allen wrench) quickly and deliberately hit the allen wrench in an attempt to cause the allen wrench to spin counter clockwise. Let me know if this works for you!

Can't engage drill or hammer settings on de walt dc 925 xrp

Try turning the ring to 2 or 3 and run the drill holding the chuck so the clutch slips then try turning it to drill setting. Also try to do it in different speed settings. If not it sounds like a fault in the gear module. It might just be a metal clip just under the clip in side. Undo the 4 screws holding the gearbox onto the housing and carefully remove it, you might see the fault or loads of dirt that needs cleaning. I HAVE A DEWALT 511 HAMMER DRILL AND I CAN'T REMOVE THE CHUCK. COULD PLEASE ADVISE ME ON WHAT TO DO.

Open the chuck fully and look inside, there should be a screw there that has to be removed to remove the chuck in view of the fact that it is a reversable drill and the chuck cannot be screwed off like a conventional inudirectional drill.

How do i remove the chuck from dewalt dc925 cordless drill, dosnt have a screw inside the chuck, read somewhere that i need a special tool but no instruction or picture of the tool. please help., thank you

The dc925 and the current model dcd950 along with several other models of Dewalt 's line of cordless hammer drills DO NOT have a screw inside removal requires a CHUCK REMOVAL FIXTURE part #
233804-40 also you can't use a generic replacement chuck. As of 2/2/2010 the prices on the Dewaltservicenet web site are $72.74 for
the tool and $69.70 for the chuck, part # 330075-90.

Dewalt 14.4 xrp combi drill

remove the chuck retaining screw, shift the tool into the low position and the clutch into the drill only position. Find a bent handle allen wrench about the size of the chuck (bigger the better) insert short end into chuck and tighten. Put the chuck on a work bench with the long end of handle at about a 30 deg angle and hit it with a hammer. It might take a couple times but it will come off. Let me know if you need any more help, and if I have helped you would you please rate my answer accordingly

REMOVE CHUCK

The only way is with a special chuk key , and is not available to customers, if you still want to replace by yourself, you can by the whole gear case cover assemble that cames with the new chuck, but is is expensive.
