Question about Mitsubishi VS-50605 50" Rear Projection Television
You probaly need a PIP board. The vertical sync goes through the PIP module. And that model is known to have bad caps in the PIP board causing loss of vertical sync. I can give you instructions on how to bypass the PIP board to see if that is your problem . If it is if you byass the PIP with a couple 4.7uf @ 50 v capacitors your set will operate but not have PIP and its reversible if your PIP is not at fault. Let me know if you want the bypass instructions.

This set is known for some very common problems some of which is just what you described. For a small fee, I can give you some common solutions that will take care of these and other issues. The only problem is you must know how to take things apart and put them back together without doing further damage, AND you must know how to solder /desolder components.
