Question about Fuji FinePix F20 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Photos automatically erased.

At some moment a huge part of the photos I've taken on my F20 have been erased as if by the camera itself, while I was taking new ones. Even more strange - they were random photos. Regarding those which were left (about 20%) - when I copy them to my computer I cannot rotate them, so it is as if they lost some of their attributes. Anyone have a clue what could have happened and whether it can be undone?

Use a card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop. Open the folder and see if you have all your pictures. Right-click one of them and select properties. Does it say "read only" at the bottom? Change that to something else and you should be able to work with them again.

Is it possible to have a date stamp on my photos taken with a Fujifilm A235?

Any digital camera records the date and time each picture is taken, storing this information somewhere in the JPG file, so you can stamp photos after uploading them on a PC. You can use Time To Photo software for example. It can stamp photos automatically in a batch.

How do I generate erased fotos

I presume you are saying that you have erased photos on your camera's memory card. As long as you have not taken more pictures with your camera and stored them on the same memory card, you should be able to recover all deleted photos.

Download and run the free PhotoRec Digital Picture and File Recovery program from your computer, naturally with your memory card or camera plugged into your computer.

Good luck.

My samsung sh100 would not turn off properly and i had to remove the battery. It now has erased all my pictures from my Europe trip .

Take no more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones.

Note that you may need to use the corrupted card procedures listed in the article.
Once you've recovered your photos, you'll need to format the card in your camera, using the camera's format feature (look for it in the camera's menus). This will rejuvenate the card, but will also erase it, so only do such after recovering, or as per the corrupted card procedures of the above link. And in the future, do not use your memory card for long term storage, as they are prone to corrupt as you've discovered. Instead regularly save and backup your photos using your computer.

I have accidentally erased all data from my Z90. Can I restore it?

You usually can't restore them so that they can be viewed by the camera's LCD screen, BUT you can recover and save the erased photos onto your computer. Card not initialized

The card will likely need to be formatted in the camera before it will work again. This will, however, erase the current photos. In an effort to save the images on the card, use an external card reader to try to extract and save the images. You may need to use image recovery software to re-access the images.
