Question about Saeco VIA Venezia

1 Answer

VIA Venezia is already getting a bit old, but lately the coffee comes out only drip by drip. Cleaned it, tried different coffee types and grinds, no avail. Yesterday the pump slowly stopped making noise, this morning it made the noise again but a very slow drip. Any other suggestions besides buying a new one? Thanks in advance.

Backflush the group and clean the shower screen.

The via venezia doesn't have a three way solenoid valve, so you can't backflush it.

Making very bitter espresso. I already decalcified it and ran empty tanks through, without success.

Hi. The bitterness you have got is most likely to be dirty group head and shower. Remove the shower and clean with a steel wool. The group handle and filter basket will also have to be cleaned. Sounds like your using a dark oily blend. You cant use different blends unless you clean the group head every time. Same with the grinder. You can not use different blends for grinding. The different blends just cross contaminate, which can make your coffee bitter. Incorrect grind or wrong water tempreture can also make bitter coffee. Running descale does nothing for the coffee taste. Descale only cleans the lime/calcium in the boiler. Coffee does not pass through the boiler. Give your group head and handle a clean, and you should be right. Hope this helps. Dazza

My Saeco via venezia isn't sucking up water for the espresso anymore, how to fix the problem? it isn't even a year old

The only thing that comes to mind is the pump, and an airlock in the hydralic system, try opening the hot water valve it water comes through then the shower screen on the group might be clogged.

Water won't come through my Saeco via venezia coffee machine. It was working fine until I cleaned it so I don't think the pump has gone.

If the pump vibrates when trying to draw water then that is a good sign. Remo;ve the hose on the output side of the pump and turn it on to see if it draws water(BE Careful water and electricity love each other too much), it water flows out the output side, reconnect to boiler and test. If that did not solve the no draw problem then the machine is blocked either at the boiler.

Adjust the grind on the machine, or the amount of coffee the grinder puts into the chamber.

if your grounds are tamped down too tight, the steam can't get through it.

Re: no coffee comes out after the grinding and loading stages!

Sounds like your coffee grinder is grinding too fine. I would up the size of your grinder. The larger the numbers the coarser the grinds. Also, should descale the machine if you haven't in a while. One of these two things may help.

Also, if the above two things do not work you can try to clean out your grinder using the instruction #2 posted on the website http://cerinicoffee.com/Saeco_technical_documents.asp

Cannot express the coffee into the cups

Solution nr one cold be the machine ran out of water and the circuit need to be filled up again.
This is the procedure to do that

Fill up your water tank
Open the steam knob na push the coffe button...in that way the water will be forced to go to the steamer. If you have water in the steamer like you asking for hot water....go to the next step
Close the steam knob and at that point you will hear a different noise and the watewr should be able to go direct into the boiler and start dripping like it was before.
if you don`t have hot water coming oput from the steamer....the problem is before the boiler and could be a clog on the silicon tube or the water pump is loosing friction..

Pls don`t forget to rate your experience
