Probably a driver issue. Simply get the CD that came with the card or download the drivers off the manufacturers site and then reinstall the drivers, restart your computer and hopefully it works again

You have to check its speakers first. If found OK, check and replace damaged component/s at its audio output circuit. If needy, replace the audio output card.

Headphone jack does not work

The headphone jack on the computer connects to the sound card, a hardware device that controls audio input and output on the PC. The card contains a digital-to-analog converter that converts analog audio into digital signals and visa-versa. The performance of the headphone jack, therefore, depends on how well the sound card functions; if the card doesn't work, then the headphones connected to the PC won't output sound. Reconfiguring the audio settings will often fix problems with audio output on the headphone jack, but if the former fails to resolve the issue, replacing the sound card in its entirety is sometimes the only means of repair.
Click "Start." Enter "sound" into the search box. Select "Sound" from beneath Control Panel. Double-click "Headphones." If no "Headphones" option is available, double-click "Speakers." Click "Properties" on the General tab. Check the Device Status field for errors. Look up the message on Microsoft Support for more assistance, if applicable. Close the window if the Device Status field reads "This Device Is Working Properly." Go to the "Levels" tab. Click the speaker button to unmute the volume if the icon contains a red circle-backslash symbol. Drag the top slider to the right to increase the headphone volume. Go to the "Enhancements" tab. Check "Disable all Sound Effects." Go to Applications, and then clear "Allow Applications to Take Exclusive Control of This Device." Click "OK" to close Headphones Properties or Speakers Properties. Test the audio. If the headphones fail to output sound, unplug the headphones from the computer. Reconnect the headphones to the PC. Headphone jacks are color-coded lime green on most PCs. Look for the headphones symbol if the jacks are not color-coded. Plug the headphones into the line-out port on the back of the computer if the headphone jack on the front of the PC fails to work, or visa-versa. Test the headphones. If headphones still won't emit sound, the sound card most likely requires replacement. b> Replacing the Sound Card b> Shut down the computer. Remove the power cord from the back of the PC. Disconnect the keyboard, mouse, monitor and all other peripheral devices. Loosen the screws found on the back of the case, then slide the cover panel off of the case. Touch the chassis to protect the hardware from electrostatic discharge, or ESD. Set the computer on its side. Locate the sound card found on the opposite of the audio jacks and loosen the screw that secures the card to the computer. If no expansion card is located opposite the jacks, the computer uses an integrated sound card which can't be removed. Remove the new audio card from its protective packaging. Line up the card with an available expansion slot on the motherboard, then push the card down into the slot to install the new audio jacks. Screw the card to the computer case. Reassemble the computer. Turn on the PC. Boot in to Windows and insert the CD that came with the new expansion card. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the sound card software to the computer. Plug the headphones into the new line-out jack. Hope this helps.

Hi,
Based on the information you have provided, it seems that the issue might be with the Audio Output Jack.
Usually some Computers have an additional Audio Jack on the CPU.
If you have such an option you can try connecting the Speakers and Headphone to that Audio Port and check.
If you do not have an additional Audio port, then it is confirmed that the issue is with Audio Output Port.
It is recommended to replace the Sound Card. You can also check with your favorite Computer Retailer, if only the Audio Output Port can be replaced.
Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.

Sound card no found, no audio output deivice is install and sound, game cotroller not found, pls help

No Sound, No Volume Control, Mixer not Found, No Sound device installed…etc etc, This is a generic issue with all Windows OS updates....many of the users are facing this issue....this issue began after an auto update from MS changed many IRQs of Win OS, mainly the Sound and Audio Control system of Windows.
1 - R U facing NO Audio / No Sound issue...?
2 - Is ur Volume Control not responding ?
3 - Is ur Sound and Audio Device in Control Panel Grayed out ?
4 - Do u get a msg "No Active Mixer Devices Installed....when u try to open Volume Ctrl etc etc ?

If ur ans to any one of them is Yes...then u are being spammed by Microsoft....as ur Sound Control IRQ is being frozen by a recent update from Microsoft....

NOTE..THIS…IS…VERY..IMPORTANT...
No file update or any sound driver update can fix it, neither Microsoft is issuing any patch to fix it…or giving any help on this.
Full solution is available in my website (Support page)...it's quite simple process to fix it, and I am not charging any money, just trying to do some service and help everyone affected by this stupidity from Microsoft.

Problems with audio after installing radeon hd 2400

Hi,

This happens because the video card has hdmi output. Since hdmi output can carry audio signals also, the audio driver gets disabled. Uninstall audio driver and video driver both, install the video driver, and then install audio driver. after installing the audio driver, in playback and recording devices choose choose the audio output device you purchased along with the computer. This should fix the issue.

Revert back for any clarifications.

Warm Regards,

Won't work

Um, that sounds like a sound card drivers problem more than the speakers theirselves. Can you try connecting any other source of audio to the speakers, like a Mp3 player, a walkman, a diskman ? Those portable players have the same audio output connections than a PC's standard sound card, a 1/8 mini stereo plug. If it works fine this way, it's a sound card drivers issue. Now if it's so, what i'd suggest you to do, is to check which sound card you got, and to reinstall or update the drivers for the device. I can help you with that part too, keep me posted on the status. Thanks, cheebster :)
