Yes. You might need to install the driver for the mouse. Here is the link to the driver:

Hope this helps.

First, you should never need to install a driver to use a mouse on just about any computer. The basic functions should work because the operating system supplies the drivers. And, you do not want to monkey with another person's computer by installing drivers so that your friend can use your mouse. Mice are cheap - just don't use yours on anyone else's computer.

Whether the mouse will work or not on a computer other than yours is wholly dependent upon whether your friend's computer has drivers that are compatible with your mouse. Typically, the mouse drivers come with the operating system.

Windows Millenium has been notorious for having inconsistent results with various peripherals, such as mice. That was one of the big failures of that operating system.
I would also consider that your mouse's circuit board may be defective. Problems could occur if you had dropped the mouse or spilled something on it. A physical problem might tweak the functions just enough to not work on another computer. I suspect that pretty soon you'll start having problems with that mouse on your own computer, if indeed the mouse is damaged.

I have a dell wireless mouse and it used to connect with my computer and work fine. I've had it almost a year but now it will not connect to my dell laptop. The light on my laptop and on the mouse will...

Most wireless keyboards and mice have their own wireless receivers (one that should be connected to the computer). The wireless receiver usually has a connect button that you need to press in order for you to connect the keyboard or the mouse. Try holding down the connect button on the receiver and on the keyboard at the same time for five seconds and release them both after five minutes.

If that work, do the same for the mouse.

Hope this helps and have a great day!

Connectivity problem with Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave Keyboard and Mouse

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it to Reset/Connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly.
If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud

Try connecting a mouse and keyboard to the laptop and then start it with the top closed. Not sure if this will work on your model, but it works on a lot of laptops. This should force the PC to use your external monitor as the primary one.

I have already broken two of them. It seems that the receiver is very sensitive to hits. Probably a PCB issue. I disassembled the receiver and discovered that if I bend it a little it starts working but if I leave it stops.
