I feel your pain, I just went through this.
Even MSIs SATA drivers didn't help becasue their so-called SATA/RAID driver floppy doesn't include SATA drivers. X(
Here's how I got around the problem. Ridiculous solution but it worked.
You'll need:
1) an IDE drive
2) a copy of Norton Ghost or other drive ghosting utility.
3) another computer that's working.
Here goes.
1) Take out the SATA drive.
2) Install the IDE drive
3) Install windows as if you were using the IDE drive.
4) after the installation can boot or after all the updating is done ( up to you) take out the IDE drive
5) Ghost the IDE drive
6) Install the ghosted image to the SATA drive.
7) Install the SATA drive
The motherboard has no problem BOOTING from a SATA drive with the firmware that came to it, but it wont recognize until after POST, so you can't install windows on it >=(
Anyway those steps will work, assuming you have a computer and an IDE drive laying around.
Huge pain in the arse, right?
Go into the bois and make sure the sata raid or raid option is enabled, that should fix it
