Make sure you have the correct, updated drivers for the card, try the card on another system, otherwise it is a os error, start up your system, go to the bois, reset the bois to default, reinstall the os u have, and the driver if it doesnt work the card is faulty or your motherboaur pci express slots, u can also try puting more fans inside or, get better cooling systemthe card might be over heating then kicks out to protect you, or the game is corrupt, if it is a cracked version, rather buy orginal or install the latest updates ?

Buying a video card can be very confusing because there are so many out there and they all claim to be the best, but first we need a little more information about your system. How old is your system, what type of video card slot does your motherboard have (PCI-E x16, AGP) Typically you will find the more money you spend on a graphics card the better, but for most games middle of the road is fine. ATI HD 5850, 6850, 7770, 7850 are all good cards and are not too expensive. even an older nvidia GTX 480 is a great card and you can find them for around $100 now on ebay. Used is okay, but remember you dont have a warranty. GTX 580 & 680 are also getting cheaper as newer technology is coming out also when you choose a video card make sure you power supply will handle the load. Some cards will boot up and work windows fine, but when you start a graphically intense game your pc might shut off or start acting wierd. You will probably be safe with a 600 watt power supply, but its not just the wattage, the amps it will deliver also are a major factor and whether or not it has 1 rail or 2.Shuld be at least bronze certified. I would think a minimum of 38 amps would suffice but if you can go for 42 and up. It better to have to much than not enough. Name brands such as corsair thermaltake and antec are good. I am having problems with my nvidia geforce 6800 gt. When i turn on my pc everything is fine but whenever i play games for ex. Bioshock or counter strike source my pc screan turns off and says no signal....

i suspect youyr graphics card is heating up and shutting off to prevent damage. windows will also shut it off but usually repaorts that it did. here is my reccomendation:
1. open side case and place a fan right nest to it. if this makes it work then heat is definitely trhe culprit. if so install a video card cooler or another exhaust fan.
2 turn all the graphics options down on the game. shut anti aliasing off and all options to minimun. then try to play if it still shuts off then your card may be on its last leg from over heating. the 6800 gt was ok when it came out but todays games require more. in fact the newer games won't run on a 6800 gt.
the big thing is heat. the standard 6800 gt just doesn't get rid of enough heat. in fact the 9800 gt i had overheated and burned out. i stay away from gt and now use gtx cards. they have a better cooler and ususally the vent outside of the case.

Have a GeForce 6600 Graphics card in my computer but when i play games, the computer crashes. Anything i can do to stop this from happening? The only game I am playing is World of warcraft and that is...

You should always update the graphics card driver first.

If that doesn't help, does it crash to the desktop, or does it crash and shuts your computer down?

If it crashes to the desktop, then your system might not meet the system requirements of the game.
If it shuts your computer down, then you might not have enough power, some hardwares are not compatible, or that the speed of some components are too high and unstable (unstable overclocking).

However, it's just possible that the game isn't working the way it should and just needs a reinstallation.

My compaq presario v3000 never have a problem... suddenly, my laptop was shut down automatically when i play game... i think its about hard disc or graphic card.... needs answer

perhaps you ran out of memory RAM when you started the game, or probably got shut down because ou overheated it... if could be a lot of reasons, oh, and check that you ahve enough battery, try running the game plugged on the electric socket and check if your computer meets the system requirements of the game

Gforce 8500 not responding in middle of some games

try a new driver or new gta patch. Really though, you need a new graphics card. the 8500 is a budget low end card. get a Nvidia 9800gtx/ gtx 260 or Ati 4850/4870 to game! Make sure you have a good dual core cpu also.
