Hello mam
please check the starting relay because if there is problem in the compressor you will not get the cooling.

Clicking fridge freezer and not working :(

Unfortunatly that clicking is the overloads built into the compressor which is telling you that the rotor in the compressor is locked up and she ain't Going to run anymore. This happens when the compresser overhaets over time and the bearings get wear and the varnish on the windings gets worn down the the rotor sticks to the windings on start up. She is dead my friend, sorry for the bad news. New compressor in a fridge your looking at about $500-$800.

Hi there, I have a Samsung RS21DCNS F/F. and have just moved house and connected it all back up. The LED display lights up, but the fridge and freezers won't cool and there's no motor or fan...

Was the fridge laying down? How long? Rule is if a fridge is laying down for an hour leave standing for a minium of an hour WITHOUT PLUGGED IN. ^hours laying equals 6 hrs standing. I tell everyone give it 24hrs of standing to eliminate problems. If you plugged it in without enough time for the oil in the compressor to return back to the compressor you may have fried your compressor. Now if you did leave it long enough and the oil in the compressor got back in compressor before plugging in. It could be in your defrost timer or your start relay. Does the fan in freezer come on? Push the switch to make the fridge think door is shut. If fan does not run it sounds like the defrost timer. If fan does run the check the start relay on compressor. Does the compressor turn on? Do you hear a clicking sound coming from copressor? If you hear a clicking noise than its your start relay trying to come on. Replace start relay and overload. The model number you gave me is not valid so get the full model number and check thru Searspartsdirect.com

If you need further assistance please feel free to contact.

There is a click sound and fridge fail to start

Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

My copressor won't start. relay works fine in

HAVE YOU TRY A 3-N-1 COMPRESSOR BOOSTER|? YOUR LOCAL APPLIANCE PARTS STORE SHOULD HAVE THEM. TELL THEM THE SIZE OF YOUR FRIDGE AND COMPRESSOR AND THEY SHOULD BE ABLE GIVE YOU THE RIGHT ONE. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE 3-N-1 AND CONNECT TO THE COMPRESSORS. BUT CONNECT THE TWO BLACK WIRES TO A EXTERNAL POWER(GET AN EXTENSION CORD AND CUT IT, WIRE NUT THE TWO WIRES TOGETHER). PLUG IT IN, IF THE COMPRESSOR KICKS OFF, YOU HAVE A BAD COMPRESSOR. IF IT RUNS WITHOUT KICKING OFF, THAT MEANS YOU ARE NOT GETTING POWER TO THE OVERLOAD RELAY TO TURN KICK ON COMPRESSOR. CHECK YOUR TEMP CONTROL INSIDE FRIDGE, AND THE DEFROST TIMER(MIGHT BE STUCK IN DEFROST)

Neff fridge, compressor makes nasty noise,

Hey there you need to check the motor/compressor PTC start relay which is located on the side of the compressor under the plastic terminal cover, it's mounted on start and run winding pins the third pin is the incoming phase which has a overload connected to it .if this relay stays shorted or doesn't conduct to power the start winding the motor/compressor wont start. also if there's a motor start capacitor test that. tell me how you get on as i have more solutions if that doesn't help.

Please rate my advice too

cheers

Kenmore Fridge; started w/clicking noise, not it's no longer cool

The noise is the overload. The compressor is trying to start and because it cannot start the overload clicks when the circuit is broken to compressor. Yes the problem could be the relay. The relay should be beneath the cover where the wiring goes into compressor. It could also be the start capacitor that the relay uses to start the compressor. When the thermostat tells the compressor to start the relay momentarily come on with stored voltage to bump start the compressor. Once the compressor starts the relay opens to prevent the no longer stored voltage from going to compressor. In short we need to unplug the refrigerator and open back near compressor to view and remove the cover that the wires go into. Mark the wire connections and see if you can get one of your local refrigeration stores to check the capacitor and start relay. You can do all of these by purchasing a three in one start capacitor and relay designed for you refrigerators size. But before you do all of these things get back with me so we can test the compressors windings. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

After defrosting the freezer the whole fridge doesn't work (is warm!)

sounds like the compressor is locked up or the relay on the compressor is bad. whats happening is its drawing too much current and cutting out from the overlaod relay. that may be a bad compressor or the start relay. both the overload and the relay are under the black box on the front of the compressor. you will need to check the relay to make sure its good, and also the compressor. there should be a wiring diagram on the back that will tell you how many ohms from terminal to terminal on the compressor. hope it helped if its a newer unit the relays are electronic and if you shake it and hear like little sand pebbles in it most likley its bad and thats why it wont run.

Refrigerator stopped after only having 18 months

"part that starts the compressor" could be the thermostat or the compressor relay. most probably the thermostat. the 'stat is indeed nothing to do with the compressor and is only the switch that makes the compressor start. the part is reasonably cheap and easily replaced. hotpoint refrigeration is as good as any and i don't have a vested interest
