Burnt out rice cooker

When I plug it in, no lights go on, and when I press cook, nothing happens. Should I open it and try to fix this myself?

Thanks. I was unable to open it due to the positioning of the screws inside the pot. The bottom ones came off easily, but they led nowhere useful, and the rest stayed covered up.

Also, since the light is supposed to go on as soon as you plug it in, I have doubts it could be the on/off switch that is the problem..

Hello mam
please follow these steps to fix it
1.check the power cord
2.check the power supply at the terminals of the cooker this can be done if you open the lower cover of the cooker.by using the multimeter or a testlamp.
3.by using the multimeter check the continuity of ON/OFF switch. by doing these tests you can find the fault and can rectify it.

Slow Cooker Beeps only after a few minutes and won't stop.

4 years later... I'm pretty sure it has to do with liquid in the slow cooker (maybe relating to temperature also so it doesn't overheat/burn your meal?). I just threw in some short ribs and a thick (and somewhat scant for the cooker's capacity) bbq sauce. It started beeping and beeping and beeping at fairly frequent intervals. I added about a cup of hot water and the beeping stopped.

Hi I was wondering if there's been any known problems with the rice cooker type "Tiger JAE-A18U 10-Cup Rice Cooker" and not being able to cook rice? I have this model and it only seems to be...

Have you tried scrubbing the inside (heating surface). Make sure there is no burnt on stuff on it and on the middle sensor (CENTER OF THE UNIT). I usually use a green scrubber with Comet. Also make sure that the bottom of the rice insert (outside) is clean.

Aroma rice cooker ARC 978 - all control panel lights stay on when pluggged in. How do I reset??

Unplug the rice cooker and the remove the cooker kettle. Push the steel button in the center of the rice cooker to loosen the spring. Plug the rice cooker without the kettle, the cook function must not be functioning. Plug it again with the kettle and push the cook switch to see if it working properly.

Was using rice cooked for sometime. My cooker is not starting to cook whne I press cook button. That is there is no blip and light above cook is not coming. Whereas when I press on warm button, warm button...

In the top cover of your rice cooker there is a sensor that controls the cooking circuit. Most of the t\ime what happens is the wire in the hinge area breaks due to the opening and closing of the lid. I even had to repair my own rice cooker by cutting away the damaged wire then soldering a longer new wire in BOTH wires. I also added shrink tubing over the 4 connections on 2 wires.

MY RD5081 RICE COOKER ONLY WILL JUST WARM RICE, WON'T COOK.

The preassure switch may be not working right.
It may be corroded, etc.
Unplug the unit and push it back several times, try to see if the spring is working, etc.
