My Yamaha PSR S500 keys are playing wrong notes

Is there a pattern to the wrong notes ( eg all up a semitone ? )
If so you could have altered the tuning.

Try a master reset:

Hold down top key whilst turning on. This will reset to factory setup.

See attached for individual reset procedures:

How do I get the white keys on my Yamaha Portasound PSS-470 to play if there are batteries in it?

If it works with a power adaptor then it should work with batteries.

The power adaptor will need to be unplugged.
The batteries will need to have charge.
The batteries should be connected the correct way around.

If all of the above is correct then there is an internal problem that will require investigation.

My YAMAHA PSR-S900 is full of viruses! how can i proceed to clean it?

The computer processor in these is NOT subject to the viruses like PC's are.

Do a factory reset on the keyboard to restore factory settings.

I have an old Yamaha PSS-595, with no sound on the left channel, either through the main speakers or the headphone socket. Is there an easy answer to this?

It appears that your keyboard has slider for volume control. This is likely a stereo control with two wipers. If one wiper has worn that would cause the problem.

One could sray a TINY bit of CRC226 available at Home Depot in the electrical department into the volume pot and see if it can be restored... USUALLY if these total go dead on a channel they will NOT restore.

If that doesn't work, take it in for repair.

Yamaha PSR keyboard won't power up

Unfortunately, I only have schematics for PSS-560 and PSS-570. If I remember correctly, with the parts side facing up, there should be a parts orientation printed on the circuit board. It will look like 2 black bars side by side with one of the black bars thicker than the other. If you got an exact replacement with the correct pin out the metal piece on the part that the black piece is mounted to with the 3 pins facing down towards the parts side of the circuit board should line put with the black bar lines on the circuit board. I hope this makes sense. Please get back to me. I had one of these keyboards laying around in my parts bin but stripped it because all the keys were broken and as they come in one strip asnd have to be ordered specially, I didn't bother keeping it. I may still have the circuit board somewhere.
