Hello thanks for using FixYa To solve error 6500 First try this:
Reset the printer:
Turn the printer off with the Power button
Disconnect the data cable from the printer.
Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in.
Turn the printer on. If this works you have solved the problem
If not try the next step
After confirming that the printer is powered on,open the paper output tray
Open the top cover and wait until the print head moves to the center.
Open the inner cover and check that ink tanks are properly seated.
Press down on each ink tank until a click is heard.
Close the inner cover and top cover.
Also do you have any kind of data equipment like a camera connected, if
so this could be causing the problem as well. Unplug it if so and see if
this is the problem after the above steps
I hope this helps, because Canon doesn't even have support for an error code
6500. If it all fails the final & best option is to take it back where you purchased it or contact Canon service center
about the error code. They will surely solve it.
I hope this solution was helpful for you. Please give me token of appreciation as FOUR THUMBS (given below to this solution)"it if it helps you" Thanks & Keep using FixYa
The service error 6500 refers to "other hardware error". This error results from printer hardware failure & nothing much can user do instead of replacing the malfunctioning hardware.
6500 is generally logic board error code. If the printer is under warranty, you can ask for replacement
$7 is the charge for the service provided.
That's a strange error for that machine, a network error? I would try removing the printhead and see if the error changes to printhead not installed, could just be a defective printhead which can cause strange errors.
The 6500 error can be something that needs repair or complete replacement as well. If your printer is less then 12 months then you can contact Canon Tech support for repair or replacement under warranty.
