Toshiba A50 Not able to boot from CD

I have changed the boot order from the BIOS to boot from CD and upon inserting CD and booting it ,it boots up and then just hangs at the boot up screen...no message too to say press any key to boot from CD as well.

No error on start up screen as well

Also i have replaced the motherboard as well and the problem is the same.

Any suggestions?? or Ideas how i can load the OS on it?

My option to boot from CD comes from using F2 key.I tried it doesn't do it.I copied the entire CD for XP onto a 8GB flash drive to and plugged that into the USB drive to boot it from thea. Didn't pick that as well.Thats same as using the CD version of USB boot right?
Found 2 errors popping up when it boots up:

PXE-E61:Media test power , check cable
    PXG-MOF: Exiting Intel Boot Agent

And then it goes to a blank screen,no activity

When you load the cd and reboot, when you see the toshiba screen, start tapping F12, see if this brings up the temporary boot menu, if it does choose the cd and watch closely for "press any key". If there is nothing showing, might I suggest you get an external cd drive that attaches by usb. You will then have to get back to the BIOS and set the usb as your first boot device and try to boot again from the usb cd drive. Good luck.

That PXE error message is from the computer trying to boot from a network drive. This means that your hard drive is not being read. You might have had a hard drive failure.

If you want to change the boot just for one time press and hold F12 during the booting proces but if you want the computer to boot every time in USB mode you must press F2 to enter the bios setup, look for the boot priority option chnage save, exit and restar.

Go to boot and select the boot order.Use F4 or F5 to change.
First boot device: Cd/dvd drive
Second: the harddrive.
Leave the bios and save the settings.

Place your windows cd in the drive and reboot.
Now you can install windows again.

Good luck

Toshiba satellite 5105-s607 insert system disk error. Every time put o.s disk in keeps saying same message.

Log into the bios and change the boot order to boot from the CD - it will then boot up your CD system Disk first
As the PC boots - you should see a message to get into bios/setup usually F10, F2 or del key varies buy manufacturer
then look for the bios section for boot order and make sure the CD/DVD drive is set to before the harddrive

If you want the computer to boot from the CD, you need to tell the computer to boot from the CD. At start up the computer runs through each device one at a time and tries to boot from it and it will boot from the first device that has a boot log. Right now your computer is set to boot from the hard drive before the CD drive.

Always back up your computer before going into the systems bios menu.

After a backup, upon starting the computer, press F12 when the bios selection appears shortly before the operating systems starts. Once in your bios menu, go to the boot order and tell your computer to first boot from the CD then your hard drive; then your disk drive if you have one.

After you are done, you can go back into the bios menu and change it back to booting from the hard drive first.

I have laptop (lenovo E260) this laptop has problem in booting it does not make boot from CD also it has no USB boot so what can I do to fix this problem? It needs format because it does not work

Boot up the laptop and enter into your BIOS. You can do this by pressing F2 at startup. From there select the boot tab and rearrange the boot menu order placing the disc drive to be the first to boot from. Then save changes and exit. You can also select boot from external media (USB boot) and place it in the order you desire such as after CD but before hard drive. Then insert your recovery CD and upon boot it should prompt you to press any key to boot from CD.

When I turn my Toshiba Satellite A50 on and Windows tries to boot I get the following: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: WindowsSystem32ConfigSystem It then says:...

You need the Toshiba CD that says "Operating System"...
If the CD doesn't boot, then boot to the BIOS setup screen and change the boot order.
CD should be listed first.
Re-boot.

My toshiba satellite a50, i want to change boot order to cd drive

You need to go into the bios or utility set up. At start up there will be a Toshiba screen, on this screen at the bottom, it will read something like, esc to enter bios, or F1 to enter bios, F10 to enter boot menu, at this point you will need to press which ever it says to go into bios. Bios can also be refereed to as utilities or utility set up. Now, if you change the boot order in the bios, it will always check the CD drive before the hard drive. If you only want or need to boot from the CD drive this one time, then you will need to go into the boot menu at start up. When you get to the boot menu, it will give you a list, then you choose CD drive. If you go the boot menu route, be sure the CD is in the drive when you select CD drive, otherwise it will see there is no CD and skip straight to the hard drive. Keep in mind that on some machines it blows right past the Toshiba screen, so you may have to try a couple of times or just be quick to make your selection as to bios or boot menu.
